Spenser Confidential (2020 Netflix)- 63% Rotten Tomatoes Audience Rating. Mark Wahlberg vehicle an about ex-cop felon who wants to expose corruption and clear the name of a dead police officer accused of murder/suicide. Lively action based in Boston, it felt light, but often flat, and the ending seemed a stretch to me.
Appears to be related to the Spencer novels and this previous series: Spencer For Hire, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088612/

Independence Day (1996)

You have to watch this like it's a 60s invasion flick, with the logic that would've been present in that decade (in terms of tech, etc). It's really fun, it's a bit silly, but that being said:

1) Clearly, if a computer is going to be used to hack an alien spaceship, it would be an Apple ... :D

2) Who doesn't want Thomas Whitmore (Bill Pullman) to be our president ... "Nuke the bastards!"

Watching it in my own personal home movie theater right now!

Contagion is where it's at, f***ing spooky, timely, terrific film (S. Soderberg), just featured in a podcast episode of The Rewatchables.

Yeahhhh (Bill Lumburgh voice), I’m going to go ahead and disagree with you there. If any computer will be able to hack the aliens, it’ll be a from a Linux box, like Kali, Parrot or Black Arch. ;)

Actually, I don’t much care for Bill Pullmans acting. Every movie I’ve seen him in, like Spaceballs, I find that he looks uncomfortable in his own skin.

I sort of am Bill Pullman, so I'll defend him till the end :D

Hahaha, actually because of this:

... and this series:

He has an __infinite__ goodwill pass.

Office Space Was just on a few weeks back. I’d rank that movie probably at the top with ‘Dumb & dumber’ in terms of a legit being funny. The best scene is when they take the fax/printer out to the field and beat it like it has no tomorrow.😁

Also, haven’t seen you in a while in this thread, hope all is well.

Next up "Children of Dune" 2003

😃 you'll have to follow up with Andromeda Strain - LOL
Good?
I’m reading Dune Messiah and it’s different than the original story, much more focused on The Attredies Empire, palace intrigue, plots against the Empire with Paul spending most of his time mulling over the future and which choices he should make. I’m about 3/4 though and have not really enjoyed it compared to the original.

I looked at Bill Pullman’s filmography and we just loved him in Ruthless People (1986) as he must be the dumbest human being alive, and he seems comfortable in The Sinner. But that’s a long stretch between those two products.

Ruthless People (1986)- 72% RTAR. This is a favorite 80s comedy with Bette Midler, Danny DeVito, Judge Rinehold, Helen Slater, and Bill Pullman. About a business man (DeVito) who wants to get rid of his wife, and a couple who kidnaps the wife for ransom because he stole their idea.

Outbreak (1995)

Haha. I literally posted this a few hours back in another thread:

And let me tell ya, the movie theater is the last place I would go right now. I mean, if you’ve ever seen the movie ‘Outbreak’ with Dustin Hoffman, you know exactly what I’m talking about.😁

I saw this movie when I was younger, and it actually frightenEd me. I think mainly because I’ve always been someone that really takes pride in maintaining my health, body and exercising proper hygiene, and I always thought that would be the worst thing that could happen is something with how this movie portrayed it, but obviously the side effects that the characters experience in this movie is fairly violent compared to what C/19 is all about.

Good movie, Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to finish my gallon of orange juice, awhile dousing myself in 90% rubbing alcohol that I hoarded from Walgreens. 😁

I watch Office Space like 2 times a month, it's one of those perfect background movies - hahaha, occasionally, something from the movie will make it's way into some code, like using pcLoadLetter for a variable name with a matching comment, // PC Load Letter, WTF does that mean?

Glass. Finish the trilogy. I guess it's done. It could have been slower, but I don't know how. I don't think I even saw Split. Loved Unbreakable, though.

Live Free or Die with the Apple guy. I've been out of this series too long, too.
