It and It: Chapter Two. Not to bad.

I’m gonna rant on IT for a bit, so feel free to tune me out😁-(No spoilers).......

The first IT was perfect. The only downside, it wasn’t scary, but it was portrayed so well by the teenage actors, I was blown away how good they were at such a young age. The scenery was captured nicely, and tons of throwback moments to the original IT was plastered From Stephen kings vision.

In terms of Pennywise, Bill Skarsgård was a great choice, but his voice wasn’t nearly as ‘creepy and frightening‘ as Tim curry was in the original IT. I think when you look at both clowns, its kinda polar opposite, Tim Currys clown didn’t look scary, but his voice was perfect for the role, and Bill Skarsgård version of the clown was scary looking, but his voice didn’t work for me.

IT Chapter 2 that launched in 2019 was good, lengthy, A bit drawn out, but still a good sequel, with a lot more CGI, [which I think kind of hurt the film in some ways], but a great acting cast for the adult version, and plenty of cameo appearances from the original cast. When you look at sequels to movies traditionally, they’re usually not very successful, but it Chapter 2 held its own, even if it wasn’t as popular as the first one.

I enjoyed it but it is a slow burn and has a very anticlimatic ending...

3/5

The Vast of Night. It was recommended by a trusted NPR podcast or else I'd have never given it a shot.

I loved it. Perfect summer nighttime movie.

Wow, I hadn't heard of this (and I spend a decent amount of time around various film sites). Just looked at the stellar reviews, and see it's available on Prime, thanks!

Kelly’s Heroes (1970)- 88% RTAS. One of my favorite WWII movies, not quit serious, with some farce, but realistic enough to be enjoyable, about a gold heist behind enemy lines in France.

Trivia: The movie was mainly filmed in Yugoslavia because the Yugoslavian army still had a large quantity of Sherman tanks in 1970. Donald Sutherland almost died of spinal meningitis while there. That’s an interesting story.
''They took me to hospital - I had spinal meningitis. They didn't have the antibiotics, so I went into a coma, and they tell me that for a few seconds, I died. I saw the blue tunnel, and I started going down it. I saw the white light. I dug my feet in.”
However, Donald was tempted for a second to stop fighting to stay alive. He added: ''I didn't want to go - but it was incredibly tempting. You just go, 'Aw, s**t man, why not?' ''

If you want to watch another movie about WWII gold, watch a romantic comedy, mystery Charade (1963) With Carey Grant and Audrey Hepburn. :)

Underwater(2020)
Ugh... not good.

Completely agree. I started watching it but couldn’t finish it.

That’s unfortunate, I thought the concept of the movie looks really good and the trailers were awesome. But if it’s ‘bad’ enough where it has to be turned off or you couldn’t finish it, that must really say something about the flow/messy plot. I do like Kristen Stewart as an actress, and I know this is one of her ‘come back‘ movies after her hiatus of acting.

Honestly? It's really not as bad as they're making it out to be. Is it the greatest movie ever made? No. Is it a cool movie that takes place underwater the whole time and has some cool supernatural elements along with some creepy, semi-claustrophobic horror vibes that is fun to throw on when you don't have anything else to watch? Yes.

It wasn't the best movie I've ever seen but I did enjoy it. ;)

I’m glad you did. It was unwatchable for me. But then movies by nature are very subjective. Like I loved inception and many I know, didn’t.

Just saw Killing Gunther on Netflix - silly fun movie

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Taran Killam

A group of eccentric assassins are fed up with Gunther, the world's greatest hitman, and decide to kill him, but their plan turns into a series of bungled encounters as Gunther seems to always be one step ahead. - IMDb
