Alfred Hitchcock’s
“Strangers on a Train”. My first time seeing it.
For such an old movie (1951), I was impressed with its sophisticated writing. The baddie in this film is a true psychopath—a privileged, manipulative, completely immoral ***hole. You could drop him into any thriller movie today and he’d be just as believable.
Only two scenes haven’t aged well. One is the carousel scene near the end, which looks laughably bad. The other is where Bruno is trying to retrieve the lighter from the storm drain; his arm stretches so much it reminded me of
Eugene Tooms. 😄
Edit: I went one page back and noticed Huntn just saw the same film.
