This film shows you the trajectory of Johnny Depps career, which is unfortunate, (as he’s a vet-actor), but this a C-grade movie at best.

Johnny Depp is not what I would call an amazing actor, he’s just been around forever and is an iconic sort of media figure. Depp was great here. A total weirdo. Those glasses, LOL. I understand the criticism. This isn’t film for everyone. It’s like a weird genre film-period piece mash-up, also The Story of America, Over the Last 20 Years. I dug it.

I haven't seen this movie and in general avoid Johnny Depp's later stuff, but what is Mark Rylance doing in this? He's a well-respected UK actor, most notably in the somewhat recent the adaptation of Wolf Hall as Thomas Cromwell.
Rylance is great here.

I watched this movie last night. Scary and gross in some parts of the movie.

This is one those films that’s on at 3AM in on the Syfy channel.😁 (And for a good reason.) It starts off actually good, and then just completely shatters with plot points that were likely written by a 15-year-old for his High school media class.😁

Stellar. As a huge car fanatic/collector myself, this was a great film. I Really enjoyed the background of Niki Lauda and how the movie was narrated. Great acting on all accounts, and shows you how competitive these two really were, But yet they had a lot of respect for each other.

I really enjoyed it great story, great acting, great film

Have you watched Ford v.s. Ferrari yet? Probably the top two male actors in the industry representing two of the most prominent car icons ever to live. Totally worth the watch if you haven’t.

Slow burn Russian Sci-Fi, Something different and something the same, equally has it's own unique flavour, We dont generally see so many Sci-Fi Horror films, always nice to see one reasonably done.

Oooh. I’ll watch. Couldn’t find it locally, I guess I’ll just have to hack it off ‘boot-cloud‘ to stream from my Mac via to my TV. 😁

But you’re right, not enough sci-fI properly directed, poor cast, terrible CGI, ect.

Sputnik's not a masterpiece, equally above average. Undoubtedly some get's lost in translation, I opted to watch in Russian with subtitles. Just nice to watch a well grounded film for a change without all over the top action/drama and bad CGI. albeit with some inconsistencies.

Have you watched ‘Doom’ with ‘The Rock’? (Actually Karl Urban is the real star here.) Mentioned while back, but similar theme, some bad acting, But loosely based on the video game with decent CGI.

Watched both Doom films. Doom (2005) being the better, equally one can see that a lot of effort and a small budget created Doom Annihilation (2019). Doom is a fun & easy watch that diverges from the lore, Annihilation some of the lore right, however...

Karl Urban in a Sci-Fi role? The one and only DREDD...

Very underrated film, with solid performances by all "hard a nails"

Plot holes aren’t very important in this type of film ;)
When I watch a SyFy movie, I don't expect a plot at all... that way I'm pleasantly surprised if there is one. It makes it easier to ignore the plot holes and just be entertained for an hour and a half. ?

I mean, have you ever seen a Cinemax late-night movie on Friday nights? They're all soft-core porn... and if you expected anything else, you're not only disappointed, but you're an idiot, right?

Urban is awesome. You don’t see his face for the entire duration of the movie, but he nailed what the viewer focuses on, and that’s his cluttered dark-toned voice. It always amazes me how these directors can find the perfect role for an actor like Urban is for Dredd, Hemsworth for Thor, Henry Cavill for Superman (Also Michael Shannon as Zodd was incredible), Bale for Batman....the list goes on. Crazy talent.

Although Karl Urban is keen to do a sequel to DREDD being a fan of the character, seems unlikely as the film was independently funded that didn't make expected revenue, mostly due to poor/yttihs marketing IMO. Best we can hope for is a TV serialisation that stays true to DREDD's character. I know, I know a big stretch in 2020.

TBH DREDD would be better suited to a good adult series given the depth of history, journey and slow revelation of Judge DEATH. If ever happens odds are we'll get something tepid at best, likely worse. If so I'd far rather they didnt...

Christian Bale, outright best Batman films & trilogy...
