Oooh, me next. (R.P raises hand for favorite quotes).....

Christy just don’t stare at it, eat it!.

Look at that subtle off-white coloring, the tasteful thickness of it, oh myG**, it even has a watermark!

I like to dissect girls. Did you know I am utterly insane?

Detective Kimball: What whole Yale thing?

Bateman: Well, for one thing, I think he was probably a closet homosexual who did a lot of cocaine. That whole Yale thing.”

Although Karl Urban is keen to do a sequel to DREDD being a fan of the character, seems unlikely as the film was independently funded that didn't make expected revenue, mostly due to poor/yttihs marketing IMO. Best we can hope for is a TV serialisation that stays true to DREDD's character. I know, I know a big stretch in 2020.

TBH DREDD would be better suited to a good adult series given the depth of history, journey and slow revelation of Judge DEATH. If ever happens odds are we'll get something tepid at best, likely worse. If so I'd far rather they didnt...

Christian Bale, outright best Batman films & trilogy...

Might just have to give them a spin

Well, I guess your timing is perfect:

New 2021 Batman trailer...looks very dark and cryptic-

Godzilla. Not great, but full of action.

Tonight I'm going to watch The Blob. Original vintage version released 1958. I went to see it with my older sister when it first came out. Remember it well. LOL

As great as that was for the 1950’s, The Blob (1988) is just an outstanding remake with the help of technology, and a good story that exceeds the original.

As good as it was for the 1950s, exceeded by The Thing (1982) Carpenter’s masterpiece much more true to source material, and I love Kurt Russell in that. :D

LOL beat me to it. Totally agree the best of the three and closest to the the source. I particularly like how Carpenter nailed the fear and mistrust between the crew, up to and even their own self doubts...

I personally thought the ‘The Thing’ From 2011 was legit scary. Very well done and leaves the viewer totally hooked until the end. ‘Scary movies’ are hard to come by, this is one of those.

The 2011 film does, I just found it lacked the deep feeling of fear the team had for one another, possibly as there was a little too much exposition. In the 1982 film it's more subtle with the fear within slowly exposed. Ultimately The Thing 2011 is a good Sci-Fi horror of which there are few these days.

Keeping with the horror vibe The Void (2016)

Impressive practical effects, fair although somewhat disjointed and hectic story. If you've never seen before, turn down the lights, turn up the volume and you'll either be glued to the seat or fleeing the room. The Void starts hard and keeps hitting harder 😱 😆 😱

If your a fan of practical effects the Void is a must on the horror scene 😎

Rogue (2020)

I'll mostly watch anything, however this film simply isn't for me. Bad from the get go; unlikeable, unbelievably dumb characters, bad CGI and ridiculous plot.

I like mercenary films and have probably watched the majority, naturally Rogue (2020) piqued the interest. TBH I turned the film off at the halfway point, which is extremely rare for me. I leave the rest to your own good judgment, for me a big 👎 I've played games on the computer with better storyline's. Ultimately Rogue will be consigned to the garbage bin of obscurity IMHO with good reason.

Edit: For the sake of fairness, I revisited the film and watched to the end, nothing changed, plain bad, little more than a time waste...

You have some great insight with films.

So I watched the 1982 version of “The thing“ with Kurt Russell last night, and I have to say John Carpenter’s version is better over the 2011 variant. It’s interesting to see how he uses a lot of the same tactics as he does for the Halloween series with the music, effects, gore, ect. In terms of creepiness on a 1 to 10 scale, the 1982 version definitely receives a 10. I mean, I had to double check my locks on my doors before I went to bed last night.😁

Thx :) The real fear in The Thing (1982) is the fear within oneself, the fear of of the unknown and the unknowable. This is hard to pull off effectively, yet Carpenter was masterful. Over exposure and exposition only serve to dilute the experience. This why films such as Alien (1979) and The Thing (1982) remain to be so very impactful to this day.

Ridely Scott's Alien amps up the tension right to the end. You never think about the effects or their implementation as you are simply so drawn into the events unravelling in front of you on the ill fated Nostromo.

IMHO the release of The Thing (1982) was poorly timed, equally the film has stood the test of time and will continue to do so for many more generations.

As for Halloween, is coming soon enough

Queen6 is on fire with his movies....

I Think I mentioned this already at some point in this thread with ‘Sunshine’, but the musical score (By John Murphy) has been dubbed over so many times, it’s been used as a ‘motivational music‘ for work, fitness, really anything you can think of on YT, it’s that powerful. Probably one of the best scores of anything I have come across, ‘Inception‘ being a close runner up.
