Loved it... No spoilers yet, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw and heard! Good time was had by all.

It's going to take me a couple of viewings to get the full gist...

I do like it though.
Upon my second viewing it is brilliant.

Without giving too much of the plot away it reminded me of teaching kids about "main idea". We tell them sometimes the main idea is in the first sentence, or, the last sentence in the first paragraph.

"He brought the world to Kansas."

Again, not a spoiler per se, but a subtle reminder of the story being told.

This one is pretty bad... for a movie. I've played the game 25 years ago and the games to follow. I was excited when the first movie came out and was disappointed. I learned to like the original movie over the years, given the sequels were even worse. This one is no exception, it's super low budget and very, very bad even by Resident Evil movie standards. However, it's a homage to the games. There are references everywhere and it's much closer to the first two games than any of the previous movies ever were. But that's about it.

In addition to the non-existing plot, they threw pretty much every character in there they had, just to show them off. And Leon... well, it's sad what they've done, really sad. Any die hard Resident Evil fan will probably want to watch this at least once. For the rest, the original intro from the 1996 game seems Oscar-worthy in comparison.

Last night saw Matrix Resurrections. IMO, if one is a "Matrix" fan you will enjoy this movie. Have to get past the first half hour which sets the stage for the rest of movie. Looks like fluff but then it all falls into place. Also some funny stuff in there that got a chuckle.

Just watched Coco (2017) at the urging of my spouse. It was ok as a Disney animated feature, but too much time spent in the Land of the Dead with cute skeletons. Earlier I caught a bit of Encanto (2021) and what struck me was how photo realistic backgrounds are becoming in animated features.

Don't Look Up (Netflix) - a newly discovered comet heads towards earth, and social media takes over. Star filled cast. Comedy-Drama
Good?

Joe Versus the Volcano, Money Pit ...?

Finch was pretty decent though.

Fair enough. Even the best find themselves in crappy films.

Take, for example, Sean Connery. His first film was as tough guy, with no dialogue, in a Tarzan film. His job was to lounge about on the top of the cabin of a small boat and look menacing. Which he didn't do at all well.
I can't remember the other one, but it was an Arthurian film, where the lines were so bad, you could see the grimaces on the faces of the actors as they spoke them.

I've just re-watched Takeshi Kitano's "OUTRAGE" movies; OUTRAGE, BEYOND OUTRAGE, OUTRAGE CODA.

I'd previously seen them over a number of months and out of sequence, so seeing them in their proper order on consecutive nights was interesting and well worth it.

I won't give this plot away. But the reviews are less than stellar. I believe it's because most have no experiential frame of reference. I do. And having said that, this is one of the most realistic, compassionate attempts to broach the subject. Highly recommended!
