Just watched Spider-Man No Way Home.
A true love letter for the franchise and the fans. It gives you pretty much all that you wanted. It's so self aware that it even included some spider-man memes in it. They definitely hit a home-run with this one. They know exactly every boxes to tick, and they delivered all heartfully. And it also gives a very nice closure to the trilogy. Best movie I've watched this year, a movie that is truly entertaining, and not filled with forced messaging or wokeness. Pure Spider-Man superhero goodness.

just watched the silver linings playbook.

an oddly unpopular movie as far as when I mention it to people, most have never heard of it or seen it.

its a good movie if you're a blunt/honest misunderstood person.

Great movie, but as someone with BP2, it is a little uncomfortable to watch. It nails the mania, rage, and depression pretty damn well.

Yeah I can understand that. I think its such a good movie to me because I relate to it so much. Yes its uncomfortable, but then again... We have to find the silver lining ;)

Dune 2022 - Best attempt at this sci fi classic so far - really liked it despite it only covering half of the first book - maybe good a good thing to spit it into 2 rather than a 4 hour movie - Timothée Chalamet does a good portrayal of Paul Atreides

One the best movies of 2021 - IMHO

I've always liked Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, but somehow I've never watched Dark Shadows. And apparently, this is all because it was necessary. After watching it now, I was delighted with the picture, atmosphere, actors, dialogues and just the cinema itself. Eva Green is great. Johnny is amazing. Simply chic!

I gave Don’t Look Up a chance and I really liked it. It resonated with my appreciation for dark humor and absurdity. It was longer than it needed to be but I laughed out loud at many of the jokes and enjoyed all the characters. Pro tip: call the FEMA/BASH hotline when it shows up on the screen. Also there are two post credit scenes that need to be watched. The first is right after the main actor credits and the second is all the way at the end.

Recently watched a plethora of Christmas movies to get into the spirit. Fat Man was interesting, but not something I would recommend as a movie. It certainly does well with spinning the myths of Xmas, but does poorly with the overall story.

I rewatched Batman Returns and loved the MP and DdV as Catwoman and the Penguin. The movie was also interesting, but lacked depth. It was actually more of a character study even though it was a blockbuster. I'd say the studio got involved and meddled with it as it has too much style over substance.

Another Chrimbo movie I watched was Why Him? with James Franco. The question should really be, Why did I watch this? Painfully bad. I did laugh about 3 times and those times it was funny, but apart from that it was horrendous.

The guy who played the BASH founder was brilliant

3/5 stars. It's a musical. It has some funny parts and somenot so funny parts. Bill being Bill so it's worth it.

3/5 stars. Good pace and it's got some pretty funny parts and some very touching parts.

... and a car chase... and a reindeer chase... true story.

Where did you find Fat Man?

Where did you find Fat Man?
As in…where to watch it?

It’s free on Peacock, and $2.99 pretty much on every streaming channel. Although I wouldn’t pay for it if I were you. It has some decent scenes towards the end, but it’s just a movie that really drags hard.

Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid (1969)- Watch 5 min and you might be hooked. I categorize this as genius story telling from start to finish with an unconventional element a pop song inserted in the middle and just the right amount of humor. :)

Saw the new Matrix film, mixed thoughts about it. It's a bit fresh but it does feel like a refresh rehash of the previous 3 films. And I'm sad they haven't got the original actor for Agent Smith as he was great, can't remember his name, or Lawrence Fishburn as he's great too. But Neil does a good job. I can see at least another two films though for sure, but the whole concept of Neo and Trinity doing something special, avoiding spoilers here, is frankly daft and clutching at straws to come up with something new for the story IMO. Also had an air of strong women weak man about it.
But it was enjoyable enough.

Going to go and watch Spectre now as it's on the telly. See the new year in.

What movie have you seen and more importantly was it any good? :)
This thread needs a new title (Like what-movie-are-you-watching in 2021) or 2022.
I really have no interest in what was playing in 2010. I just watch "The Power of the dog" in NetFlix for what it's worth. Great flick IMO.
