A truly awesome movie....have seen it a few times in my life. What an ending!!!!
Also: you may want to catch Poitier and Widmark in the ORIGINAL ' NO Way OUT'. Not only will you be impressed but keep in mind while watching the time /era in which it was made!

Getting ready to watch "City of Lies". This is one of the those cases that has peaked my interest over the years.

en-US

I watched Sing 2, and I was really surprised, it's much better then the original and flows much better. it was better then the new Matrix film IMO. Definitely recommend it.

Also watched Android / Human or is it the other way round? On Netflix, it's alright but not amazing.

EDIT it's actually called Mother / Android.

The Lost Daughter (2021)- Some psychological ugh story about a woman professor who has constant flash backs about choices in her life mixed in with what appears to be a lousy vacation. Painful to get through for me. Wife did not like it either. Portrays why motherhood and humanity itself might be a drag for some people in certain situations.

Bad Day For The Cut (2017)- Surprisingly engaging low budget thriller based in Northern Island about a middle aged man who lives on a farm with his aging mother and one day some people show up and murder his mom. He has no clue, but he soon finds out. I had to turn sub-titles on. :) Last chance to watch on Netflix Jan17.

Just found out that the Original 'NO WAY OUT' was Poitiers' first screen roll! More kudos to him for his performance.

Pollyanna (1960)- This was an enjoyable film watching it as a child and still enjoy it today, about an orphan girl living with her strict Aunt circa 1910 small town America and the effect her positive attitude has on the locals, her aunt and the local minister, who her Aunt has under her thumb to be strict with his parishioners. Outstanding acting all around and I love Karl Malden in many of his roles, How The West Was Won a couple of days ago and this as Reverend Ford.

Oh, my!
I saw Pollyanna in the early '60s, and it blew me away (ok, I was 9? 10? at the time).

What movie have you seen and more importantly was it any good? :)

Watched Shutter Island, a psychological thriller. It just did not click for me. Without giving the story away, it took a turn I did not expect, which is not necessarily bad, but the execution was below my expectations.

On the other hand we just finished up the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the umpteenth time. You don't see epics like this very often. :)

If you ever wondered how they made 6' tall actors hobbit size, besides using short doubles for long shots, this is another method- forced perspective.

I was rewatching American Beauty. And this is one of the coolest and my favorite films. I advise. Relevant in our time.

No doubt this film has been here recently;

The Last Duel (2021)

Ridley Scott back on form  The Last Duel is a very nuanced film, with the devil being in the details. Some are just missing the difference, how they are portrayed and most importantly the period in time.

I do recommend, look into the details will draw you deeper into each characters perspective. Yes the crux of the matter is abhorrent, yet the film goes far deeper...

Watching The Eternals myself, because it's in Disney Plus. About half way through and it's weak. They spent all of 5 minutes in the biggest twist in the story. The whole story is weak and makes a bit of a mockery of the rest of the Marvel universe.
Not a good one. Which is sad as The Ten Rings was brilliant.

A 4 out of 10 for me.

EDIT: ok just finished watching it, gets a 3.5 out of 10, Marvel seem to want to keep on using the same story, how the universe and life was created etc, but with different story lines and characters that mention the other ones but also make them seem hypocritical?. Now we have sentient beings higher then the Infinity stones or gods like Thor? In this case for me it doesn't really work very well.
This is only my opinion of course. Watch it and make your own opinions in the film, looks like they are set to make a sequel at least.
