But there was nothing more than a label to say how many days had passed. I would have been more impressed if they had shown people wearing down, but it did not feel like that at all. I think reading the book influences your reception of the movie version a lot, sometimes gives you a better perception, but of course reading the book can make you hate the movie too.
For 30DON, I really disliked the the stylized choices that were made for the vampires, which is personal preference, the way they fed like mad dogs, and the maniacal look in their expressions, everyone except Danny Houston’s dull look.
But it’s likely I have been effected by what has come before this. Yeah it’s a shock after
Twilight and pretty vampires,

but also more subtle traditional vampires who don’t go for frontal assaults, not that I reject this approach out of hand. For whatever reason, the execution of the story just left me unsatisfied. And I’ll leave it at that and am in no way claiming to be the
authority on good movies.
