Besides enjoying The Transformer movies, my favorite Michael Bay film is The Island… cinematic, nice chase sequence, but it’s not all that, but some of that meshing in with the story nicely. :) Felt like Logan’s Run.

I enjoy The Island when I watch it. It was an interesting match up with those two too. They worked well I thought in the film. It is a bit like Logan’s Run for sure.

What a film, what a watch absolutely a wild ride. IMHO Harvey Keitel's best performance. A very intense watch and one not to be missed by any means.

Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans (2009)

Not a bad watch, however not in the same league as the stunning 1992 film. Not a continuation nor a prequel etc. just it's own thing. Nicolaus Cage delivers as do the many other notable actors, yet...

Film feels like clips pushed together in an attempt to make a cohesive storyline. Lacks the impact and harsh reality of the 1992 film. Either ways tuck the kids in bed and settle down to a couple of great crime films that illustrate the dirty side of life...

Bad Lieutenant with Harvey is a masterpiece in my opinion. That movie is one of my favorites. I didn't really care for the second one. Didn't knw what to expect, but like you mentioned it wasn't on par with the first one.

I'm sure I've seen one of these? But I'll have to watch the 92 film with that praise.

Briefly…

Murder by Death (1975) by Neil Simon. An exceptional cast (Trumpan Capote, Peter Falk, James Coco, James Cromwell, Peter Sellers among others) delivers a classic comedy. This movie does exactly what it’s supposed to do.

Scanners (1980) by David Cronenberg. In this context, scanners are not that object that never works usually together with an office printer but something much less insidious imo: Scanners are people that can kill using ESP powers. A classic, with a great Michael Ironside. It somewhat holds the test of time.

Recently finished the motion picture The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling based on the 2009 novel of the same name. Some of the action sequences were too ludicrous for me (think later Fast & Furious films level), but it was great fun with a talented cast. Wouldn't mind a Netflix sequel.

Interceptor (2022 Netflix- 20% Audience score at RT. Military Die Hard, female lead, enjoyable to go with the flow, but don’t expect a realistic scenario. Surprise cameo by Chris Hemsworth who also was a producer.

I haven't watched movies for 5 years,
can you give me a breakdown of a few or more movies which must be watched?
What genre do you like?
