and the Oscar goes to.................., yes I liked it that much.
The Wicker Man (1973)

Full film with restored footage. It's some watch I assure and one that will never be repeated, even the 2006 remake was a joke. If your going to watch the original seek out the full length version, anything else will be diluted and not make sense.
The Wicker Man is a hard film to quantify as it covers so many genres, in your face, yet subtle all at the same time. A very solid, yet one you may have to work with to get the best of it...

‘Irredeemable’ Batgirl movie unexpectedly cancelled despite being in final stages
Warner Bros confirms film starring Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon, Michael Keaton, JK Simmons and Brendan Fraser won’t ever be releasedwww.theguardian.com
For me physical disk, Final Cut version is in the region of 93 minutes versus the theatrical 84 minute run. Cut versions vary by region as does quality. If less than the full run you can live with it, however the full scope of the film is the way to go.Did you stream this? Found it on Amazon, wonder if it is full or cut?
Then I gota have a look, lining up as we speak...and the Oscar goes to.................., yes I liked it that much.
Why do they sell out? I'd far rather go out on a high with pride, then live a quiet life than become a laughing stock for the $$$. Admittedly "drunk as a lord" but not too far off the mark me thinks. Bruce Willace being a prime example...SAW it yesterday, save your money, the very few funny clips is not worth the time

Maybe, could be a fun watch.I see Buizz Lightyear is streaming on Disney Plus now. Gotta check it out.
At Amazon for streaming listed as 88 min.For me physical disk, Final Cut version is in the region of 93 minutes versus the theatrical 84 minute run. Cut versions vary by region as does quality. If less than the full run you can live with it, however the full scope of the film is the way to go.
Second screening The Wicker Man now as I was digging through my versions; theatrical (84), Directors Cut (99), Final Cut (93). Be rude not too LOL. The Wicker Man wont gel with all however for some it will resonate deeply...
If you dig this, then we can talk about Possession (1981). A sheer assault on the senses in every sense of the word. I honestly think the director pushed the actors to the brink of insanity. Another one that's not an easy watch and very much challenges the viewer. Best to go in cold; some say is unintelligible, some say is too highbrow, personally I think it's the work of genius, equally hard to digest on a single watch...
Just added to the playlist for the next one up as has been a while. You'll just never see the likes of such content in the current sad state of affairs where the outraged minority draws the lines over art and creativity for the masses. Possession feels real and disturbs at a very core level. I don't watch often, equally when I do I give the film my full attention as that's what it absolutely demands...

Likely doesn't have the recovered footage at 88 minutes, but you'll still get the feeling of the film...At Amazon for streaming listed as 88 min.
100% agree, this is a fantastic movie. More people should know about it. Sadly, it was not his last movie. Sellers died shortly after making "The Fiendish Plot of Dr. Fu Manchu," a regrettable movie for so many reasons. It would have been better for him to have left us with "Being There" as his final statement.Being There (1979) by Al Ashby.
I have no words. I can’t believe I missed this incredible movie for so long. Not only this is a smart, ironic, sarcastic comedy, but it features Peter Sellers in his last role and what is probably his best performance.
This is certainly the first movie, or at least the first successful movie, that features an autistic individual, and it does so in the best portrayal I’ve ever seen… certainly a better one than Rain Man. This movie also features quite a good critique of society, the government, media, and people in general.
I won’t spoil the movie, but the ending - the very last scene - was just pure perfection.
Of note, a great soundtrack. The scene featuring Deodato is a small masterpiece within a masterpiece.
I liked this movie so much that I am going to buy it as a Criterion BluRay.

Worse ways to spend time LOL. Got them all, they surface from time to time as the player works through the library.Just watched all five Dirty Harry Films:
Dirty Harry (1971), Magnum Force (1973), The Enforcer (1976), Sudden Impact (1983) and The Dead Pool (1988).
Like bare knuckles violence. Callahan doesn't really take anyone into custody he just shoots them. lol
Okay films, sometimes weird, but still strangely compelling.

Not sure if I’ve ever watched a predator flick before, vaguely recall Danny Glover in one, but holy cow!, this was a good movie. Excellent juxtaposition of hunter/gatherer smarts vs high tech alien tourist/hunter. Fun, original characters, novel intersection of history and sci-fi. Highly recommended.
Watched the English version, but I honestly think it could stand on it’s own without subtitles or dubbing. It’s just that good.I understand there is an English version and a Comanche version with subtitles. I'll probably watch the English version because I'm too lazy to read subtitles.
