One of my all-time favorites. Singing "Tiny Dancer" on the bus as they drive through the Midwest. The expression on Russell's face (Billy Crudup) after a phone conversation with Elaine (Francis McDormand). Cream editor Lester Bangs (Philip Seymour Hoffman) giving sage advice to William. The shinning light in the film, literally is Kate Hudson whose blond curly clocks are always highlighted, almost blindingly so.

Upgraded to a gorgeous 4K version due to a Great Black Friday deal at $7.99 with digital.

You think? guess so, personally I thought it was about empowerment.

Girl’s sister got raped and murdered, girl gets put in an institution and then wrongly lobotomized, and almost gets raped in the end. The culprit gets caught, but it’s one small victory in a very messed up chain of events.

Think a patched-together film from the UK 1975 TV series which was way ahead of its time. Free on Tubitv awesome collection of B rate films but I like this stuff :)

In all seriousness the original Space 1999 series is well worth the watch. Playing now on the projector, 4K is one thing but 100" is entirely another :)

Was wrong is the first double episode to draw you in 47 years later still works a treat...

Look a little deeper, but we are in a world of extremes these days. Maybe a better way to put it is to be trapped and then be freed.

I know it can't all be happy endings, but to be lobotomized may be free from suffering, but still a fate worse than death.🤔

Watching the Jason Statham classic Redemption (known in international markets as Hummingbird). He plays the same character in every movie, but it doesn't make it any less of a joy to watch.

I enjoyed it. It starts off a bit goofy, but once you get in the mindset of watching it as a live action cartoon, it's a lot of fun. It was also produced by Antoine Fuqua of Training Day fame. It's like Mission: Impossible meets Pulp Fiction; a lot of colorful characters. The standout performances for me were Brad Pitt, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Joey King.

Currently finishing up the gritty slice-of-life thriller Emily the Criminal, starring Aubrey Plaza, whom I've also recently been watching in The White Lotus on HBO.

I felt like a had a stroke trying to watch this movie.

How did they assemble such an amazing cast, for such a dumpster fire of a plot?

Some great performances, unfortunately truly let down, by hamfisted screenwriting, and direction.

Thanks!

Aubrey Plaza impressed the hell out of me in Legion TV series. The first season (only) is highly recommended due to wonky writing that came afterwards. In regards to Legion, I was advised that it was similar to the source material, but I found the first season to be incredibly good and relatively coherent, where what followed was disjointed and muddled.

That's a shame. I just started watching this one. The trailers made it look really funny. How did you feel about Taylor Swift's performance?

She actually did really well IMHO. She has a very pleasing screen presence.

Again unfortunately she had some bad material to work with, and she is in the beginning of the movie when you are still getting your bearings, on how bad things are going to go off the rails.
