Starting A Christmas Story Christmas. I'm going to be honest, I've never been a fan of its predecessor, and personally consider it to be one of the most overrated Christmas movies (my favorites for the record are Die Hard and Jingle All the Way), but this one has pretty good ratings for a sequel, so I'm interested to see how it is.

Watched the directors cut of The Kingdom of Heaven the last couple of nights. Very good movie.
Only version to watch as the theatrical release was butchered by those that don't know better. Ironically had the studio left the film as the director intended it would have very likely made more profit...

People will easily sit through a 3-hour film if it's good and will walk out if shorter film is bad or makes no sense.

Not sure why, but many people told me that I should watch this movie. It was okay. Pretty predictable, but enjoyable.

Army of Thieves (2021)
Army of Thieves (2021).jpg

I watched this one due to it being the sequel to Army of the Dead, and I enjoyed this one a lot better than Army of the Dead. Not sure why, maybe because the focus was on the safe cracker, which was the most likable and interesting character from the the original.

The full fat 1973 version, sadly the Nicolas Cage pales in comparison not remotely close...

FWIW I like Nicolas Cage, but this was and is a bad film...
I love Nicolas Cage, one of my favorite actors. Of course I like the good ones, but I have also watched a lot of the bad films he is in, and even though they are pretty bad, just his presence in them makes it tolerable.

Exorcist III (1990)

First Exorcist was and remains to be a standout, 2nd was weak to say the very least, but the 3rd is a very solid thriller with a horror twist

One you should watch after the OG as it right up there...

I finished the book a few weeks back, and it’s a very solid sequel to the original. I’ll watch this one soon enough.

Miracle Mile (1988) dir. Steve DeJarnatt.

I have absolutely no idea why this low-budget movie has been forgotten. Acting is solid, and the plot is quite original and intriguing (especially for being a 1980’s flick). A continuous crescendo leads to a memorable denouement that will stick with the viewers.

This movie deserves a much stronger and wider legacy than it has now.

Note: if you’re not familiar with the movie, don’t read anything about the plot. Don’t read what it is about, don’t read about the actors, don’t ask. Just watch it.

This movie was a trip to watch back in the day. The scene searching for a helicopter pilot in the gym. I had forgotten about this one.

Shopping in Chicago? :) Based on your recommendation I’ll see how hard it is to find.

Yes, it’s totally about shopping 😝
It’s on Amazon in Blu-ray and dvd. Also for rent and purchase on Prime and iTunes. Definitely worth $3. Now remember that it’s low budget so the video quality is not great.

The Worthy Star Wars- Episodes 3.5*- 6 (1977-83)
*3.5= Rogue One (2016)- The definitive Star Wars, still the best of the best.

Tucker and Dale Vs Evil (2010)- low budget laughs. 👍

Deadpool (2016)- I don’t know how I missed this when it came out, but it was good, definitely a different R space than your average Marvel movie, with fun characters. I really like the structure of this origin story.

Ironically, while the movie Diehard takes place on Christmas Eve, it was actually released in the summer.

The opening title sequence is the best one I've ever seen.
