Ghosted, isn't an Oscar-winning or nominee kind of film. It is a normal action flik. 7/10.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves
Much better than expected. It's an action flick with many plot holes, but every now and then it has that Dungeon & Dragons feeling, plus somewhat good acting performance by at least some of the cast. It started off a little boring, but got better during the movie. It felt a little too long at times.

When it works, it really works well. At some point (in the arena towards the end) it felt amazing and reminded me a lot about the animated D&D series from the early 80s, which I really liked, given it was the only D&D we had back then. At that point I thought it would be really cool if they'd remake that series as a live-action series with a proper budget...
only to see our main characters to be brought up to the arena less than a minute later, together with other groups of heroes in the background, among them the characters from that 80s animated series! Holy crap, that was absolutely fantastic fan service they did there. Got another glimpse at those old characters stuck in a cage during the arena scene. I really hope there will be more in the future!

Overall I'd recommend watching this and for fans of D&D it's a must anyway. Would certainly welcome a sequel and if that happens, I'm pretty sure I'll watch this one again as a double feature.

Just curious how you feel about the sequel? Not picking a fight! :)
It's good, but not quite as good as the first, absolutely one to watch...

Well cast, well portrayed & directed with a serious passion. My auto destruct 2011 15" MBP is booting it up as we speak. It's been grinding away for more than half a decade as our media server and one of the very few 2011's that seem impervious to abuse. If a fan of the 1982 film, Blade Runner 2049 is a must watch as it answers questions and presents more...

Watch Blade Runner, watch Blade Runner 2049, dont overthink just absorb. Some of the best Sci-Fi ever produced. The 1982 film is a standout and to this day stunning to watch. I own a limited box set from the period with five versions of the 1982 Blade Runner, complete with the car & unicorn and other stuff. So yeah a fan :)

If you haven't you must...

I enjoyed that too..but considered it a different kettle of fish. Though a good movie it didn't reach that level of the first one. For me that first one was an experience I'd not encountered before.

The sequel tidied up loose ends..and put an end to an ongoing debate with movie fans.. Though I was quite happy with those unknowns being undone.

Memories in thinking about this:
I saw the first one in a cinema with a mate who after told me of the book the film was based on. He was a sc-fi fan. Up til then I didn't care much for sc-fi but changed my mind after.

I watch it again when it was screened on tv..with my father - a WW2 vet. Unexpectedly he made a connection with it..especially the "I have seen.." near the end.

Yes.. But do you have the gun?

There's a online group - the paper modellers. They make amazing stuff. Years back there was one guy (Japanese if I remember right) who created models that were amazing that you could download. He did Starwars ships with incredible detail ..but he also created one of blade runners gun.

I haven't been there a while but last time I looked I didn't see any of his stuff???

Found it..kinda. (I'm on an obsolete iPad mini..so searching isn't that good.)
You can find it in here:

Uhu02 is the name of the maker...there's other movie stuff there as well.

Ref-Bladerunner, Bladerunner 2049. Actually on first watch,I liked the second one more than the first one. The reason was we were watching the first one at a drive-in theater when it premiered, it’s a very dark movie, and the hang the speaker on the window was aweful. The second one was not the movie I expected, but I quickly adapted myself to the superb story it told. I’ll be pissed if this story is not finished, but it might not be… 🤔

I've looked, but I'm far more into the films than the bit's & pieces, admittedly If I came across a good replica I probably buy it LOL.

I like both for differing reasons and these days I tend to watch them both back to back. Blade Runner 2049 will be the same as the first film. BR 2049 will slowly gain interest and be far more recognised for it's art in time as is it's principle...

I'd love to see a third, yet I am good with the resolution of both films. Nor do I want any more of the current mediocre garbage that's being continuously pumped out. Hopefully producers will wake up as confident the vast majority of people dont like **** films or TV series.

Ref: Bladerunner franchise
I recognize the danger of a third movie and associated expectations. We know there is a Replicant underground/resistance and possibly something akin to a rebellion in the works. What form that takes is up in the air and where and how it lands could be anyplace. There might not even be a rebellion, just another tangent to add to the lore.

As I‘ve said, I was not expecting the second chapter to entirely be about the search for a person born to a Replicant. I walked out of the theater impressed but initially blinded and disappointed because it was not what I had anticipated. But on a second watch I recognized, and accepted, or was assimilated ;) as to what an impressive film this is, the characters, the atmosphere, everything about it.

  • Sapper Morton the replicant who just wants to be left alone to live what life he has. I was not sure to what degree he was involved with rebellion.
  • Lt Joshi’s fear of breaking the world, all the ramifications of reproducing Replicants.
  • K, a police replicant sent on a mission to locate the child, his relationship with Joi an AI companion because he feels like he is an outcast among human beings, especially his growing hope that he could have been born and is the person he seeks.
  • Neander Wallace the megliomaniac billionaire who thinks he is God.
  • Luv, Neander’s completely loyal and devoted guard dog replicant who kills with ease.
  • And the original Bladerunner, Deckard hiding in the ruins of Las Vegas protecting his child by disappearing as best he can.

Miller’s Crossing (1990) by the Coen Brothers.

I have been in love with this noir-gangster movie since I watched it 30 years ago. Byrne, Finney, Polito, and Gay-Harden give us an incredible performance, but John Turturro’s is out of this world. His performance is nothing less than stellar, one of the best acting performances I’ve ever seen. The plot is somewhat based on two novels by Dashiell Hammett (Red Harvest, The Glass Key) and it holds up even after many years.

This movie is highly recommended.

Special mention goes to the Sam Raimi cameo.

Note: for some reason the dialogue in a couple of scenes has been modified in the Criterion edition, in one case for the worst imo.
