Id add this to that list:😍 for Dirty Dozen.
Some other fav WWII:
- Kelly’s Heroes
- Where Eagles Dare
- Guns of Navorone
- The Blue Max
- In Harms Way
- Longest Day
- more recently, I enjoyed Saving Private Ryan too. This film does a good job illustrating the horror and pain of war, and the damage it does to human beings beyond the physical damage.
Edge of Darkness (2010)

Middling at best attempts to condense and update on the original content. Rather fails as too much is not adequately presented with too many voids in the close to two hour run time.
Edge of Darkness (1985)

Sophisticated, strikingly intense story of a British policeman investigating the murder of his daughter. Edge of Darkness unravels slowly to expose an uglier world where personal grief is irrelevant. Twisted and convoluted as the truth and players are exposed intime...

The film "Sherlock Holmes" offers a dynamic story that is full of action, humor and mysteries. It successfully combines modern elements with the classic aspects of the Holmes and Watson characters, creating an exciting and entertaining world. Robert Downey Jr. plays Holmes with great charisma and energy, bringing new layers and depth to the character.
AgreedWelcome! Not to start on a disagreeable note, but I disliked the RDJ version primarily because of Guy Ritchie. I did not care for his Holmes Style as compared to others such as Basil Rathbone before and Cumberbatch after. But this is not my suggestion not to watch it by any means. We all have different tastes.

Maltese Falcon still has it, last time I watched it, but I agree, you have to be in the zone. And I don't know if Casablanca is considered Noir, probably not, but love that one too.Have been dropping back into early 'Film Noir' movies lately. Have a large collection of titles on dvd - singles and box sets - many of which we have watched before, a good many others though have never been viewed, and I'm trying to pick titles and actors that I think might still provide interest to us now.
So far, it's been with limited success -- the 'mood' just doesn't seem to with us now, as it was a few years ago, when we were really into this stuff. But will try a few more before giving up.
