Didn't care much for The Chronicles of Riddick (2004), Riddick (2013) back on form and in the groove... Pitch Black is where it's at 😎

Sarah’s Oil
Plane movie Detroit to Denver just finished it.
Actually I liked it, nice script and story, based on real life events.
8/10 for me.
Yea, you can appreciate a movie on a plane when it’s engaging enough that you forget where you are.

"The Idea of You"

A May-December rom-com that I shut off before it was over to go try to rescue my grandson with a computer issue. I thought it was what I wanted to watch and people (kids, I think) were raving about it on Reddit, but I just couldn't get into it.

I'm not fairing well with movies lately, but I'll keep trying! 😉

I re-watching a bunch of Jackie Chan 70's-80's kung fu movies. Bad dubbing with stereotypical bad lip sync😘, great fight choreography🥰 takes me back to my Saturday afternoons childhood. The plots are thinner than 1 ply toilet paper, but I don't watch for the engaging story.😄

The old beggar is Jackie's master in a lot of his movies. I never learned the name of the actor, but his collaboration with Jackie is always fun.🤩🤩🤩

His name is Yuen Siu-tien 袁小田 (or Simon Yuen), choreographer Yuen Woo-ping's father, aka "Ol' Dirty" - rapper ODB took his name as an inspiration.

He also collaborated with Jackie Chan in Snake in the Eagle's Shadow (1978) and Dance of the Drunk Mantis (1979) and passed away in 1979.

The Long Good Friday (1980)
1772700098210.png

An up-and-coming gangster is tested by the insurgence of an unknown, very powerful threat. The Long Good Friday was and still is a great piece of British Cinema, still holds the power to shock, amuse & thrill.

I watched two old favorites last night (since I was faring so horribly with new movies 🙂 ) and I doubt they need any introduction or explanation: The (1991 remake) of "Cape Fear" with DeNiro, Nolte, Lange. GREAT movie! DeNiro is EXCELLENT! I also watched "Fargo" with the wonderful Frances McDormand and William Macy. Another classic!

If you haven't seen either of these movies, watch them NOW! 😀
