Repulsion (1965)
View attachment 2625026
Beautiful young manicurist Carole suffers from androphobia. When her sister and roommate, Helen, leaves their London flat to go on an Italian holiday with her married boyfriend, Carole withdraws into her apartment. She begins to experience frightful hallucinations, her fear gradually mutating into madness.

Hard one as while I think this is one of the best phycological horror films produced, equally the director should have been jailed for life for the abuser he is... So I rec to pirate and watch so no funds go to the director.

The Island of Dr. Moreau (1996)
View attachment 2625024
After being rescued and brought to an island, a man discovers that its inhabitants are experimental animals being turned into strange-looking humans, all of it the work of a visionary doctor. The back story alone makes this one a completing watch as exemplifies how narcissists and abusers thrive in Hollyweird...

I remember not liking Marlon Brando in this.

Simply put like many actors just a self-ingratiating ******* who have the audacity to talk down to others... They be wise to stay in their lane. Doctors, engineers, scientists change the world, actors well they just act. Just a level up on politician's who are mostly professional liars.

Watched a fascinating documentary about the making of this movie recently. I believe it was on Amazon. Quite the crazy story about all that took place between the studio, directors, actors, etc.

A brutal murder, a brilliant killer, a cop who can’t resist the danger. Catherine, a novelist with an insatiable sexual appetite, becomes a prime suspect when her boyfriend is brutally murdered. A crime she had described in her latest novel. Still stands up today 😎 Beautiful woman perfect for the part, Michael Douglas tremendous counterpart. Gritty & dangerous, would you take the risk?

I've been catching up on some old favorites on Netflix this past weekend. Last night I watched "Animal House" in all its craziness. On Saturday I watched one of my all-time favs "The Breakfast Club" and then 3 hours of "Schlinder's List." Talk about a dichotomy!

Before I went to bed last night I (unfortunately) watched a documentary called "The Neighbors Next Door" about a man who killed his pregnant wife and two toddlers so he could start a new life with a woman he was having an affair with. It had a profound negative effect on me (as should come as no surprise but I wasn't expecting it) and I went to bed in tears.

From now on I will remember to save the comedy for last instead of first.

Not seen Animal house in a longtime. The breakfast club has a great soundtrack. But makes me feel old when I see how old that film is!

Not into true crime type stuff. My life has been traumatic enough. I don’t want to see reality. I want escapism.

Just watched another Studio Ghibli production last night.🥰 My Neighbors the Yamadas.

It's a fun movie the entire family can enjoy and almost everyone can relate too. I wasn't thrilled at the artwork during the first 10 minutes because I had grown so accustomed to gallery quality backgrounds from Studio Ghibli. By 30 minutes in, the art style had grown on me. So kawaii.
To watch a show about a non-dysfunctional family is quite refreshing.
