I have more of an issue with handles than with blades. The original Galette Sensor handle was awful for holding backwards for an up stroke. The Mach 3 was much better - which is what I was using up until recently.

I stopped by The Art of Shaving in Chicago a few years back. I was looking at the handles they were selling for $90 to $200. Being a pen turner, I found the quality abysmal. The barrels weren't faced correctly and they weren't assembled straight. So I bought the parts here and made a better razor for a tenth of the cost! Plus it fits my hand perfectly, had good heft, and has groves in the barrel for grip right where I need them!

I only shave every 2-3 days. Anything more and the irritation on my neck is unbearable. I have an electric, but it is emergency only as I can get a better shave just as fast by lathering up and using my Mach 3.

I don't even get it, other than, what? Tropical fruits are for the ladies? :D I'd totally buy it again!

I've used Taylor of Old Bond Street creams in Grapefruit, Lemon Lime, Coconut, Rose, and Lavender. I didn't find anything feminine about them; they're great creams and they smell very pleasant.

I'm currently using their Cooling product, has peppermint/menthol/tea tree oil, really fantastic.

Umm, OK, so about the Mango - which I've used, and loved - the reason you didn't see it on the website is because you were looking in the wrong area ... I discovered a few months ago that the Mango, at least by their product design, is well ...

Yeah, I stumbled across it later. I knew someone would bite into ‘where it could be found’.
All good. S

So here are the options:

Disposable
Cartridge (Gillette, Shick, Harry's)
Safety
Electric Rotary/Foil Types
Straight Edge

Based on what you choose which brand do you prefer?

My I have never had experience with a safety razor, although I may have to give it a go in the future.
Disposable I have used but they are not partially a preference for me as most of the ultra cheap ones are no good, and the normal priced ones are similar to cartridge styles. Straight edge I feel is barber only. I do have an electric rotary one, but I feel it does not give me the closest shave, it is not quick, and it does help with irritation.
I have would have to pick Gillette for my 1st preference for a nice close quick shave. Shick brand I have tried and I like but their trimmer on the back side with the hinge that folds down is impossible to use In my eyes. If I could have figured that out I probably would stick with that brand. Harry's I like and the value is great, but same thing the trimmer on the back pulls my hair and I from what I remember I did not notice that on Gillette.
So if I had to call it today I would say the Gillette Fusion 5, and for the touch ups and in betweens and without a lot of hair my electric rotary.

What is your guys experiences?
I always used safety one, but recently switched to cartridge :)

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Dollar Shave Club. I use their Executive head (five blades) and they send me four cartridges per month for $9. I had an electric in high school and have tried a couple over the years since but I always end up with pretty serious razor burn from those.

I'll be surprised if (at least) @chown33 or assorted other pranksters haven't haven't weighed in with "Occam's" in response to this thread.

But I confess not having read all the entries yet. There's still time for someone to beat the usual suspects to this particular punch, maybe.

Recently converted to a safety razor, I love it.
I also use Dollar Shave Club to shave my head :)
Legs are hairy.

I prefer cartridge razors. I've been using the Gillette Mach 3 for a while now and am happy with it.

I currently use andis T outliner clippers to shave twice a day. I just purchased the Panasonic arc5. I’m going to try it out. I’m hoping I can start using this instead of electric clippers. My skin is Brown and sensitive, I bump easy. Ive tried cheap electric shavers before and they couldn’t cut close or they would irritate my skin.

Thread revived...

I’ve been using an inexpensive (approx $50-60) Norelco electric rotary shaver. I’m currently visiting my Dad who purchased a new Braun Series 3 foil shaver (3000s $50) and invited me to try it. I did and was impressed by this shaver because little did I know beforehand, it oscillates back and forth similar to my Phillips electric toothbrush much faster than the rpms on my rotary razer. The replacements heads (Norelco vs Braun) are comparably priced at about $30.

There maybe one in my future. Your impressions about rotary vs foil?
