I had a 32GB iPad 2. It ran out of space at one point, and I had to start deleting apps. So I ended up getting a 64GB iPad 3rd gen so I don't have to deal with it.

64gig. Why? Because I have the wi-fi only model and the cannot rely on the cloud, and I have lots and lots of digital media. While I know there is no point on carrying everything I have in iTunes with me, I think it's comforting to not be restricted by limited stotage space. I'd get the 128gig if the made one. I'd get a terabyte version if they had one. But that's me.

32GB..my IPHONE is 16 and since I have other :apple: products I figured I didn't need everything on this IPAD. Plus it's my first so it seemed better to go with 32..not too much and not too little. Perfect decision.

like he mentioned. I own iPhone also. and gave my iPad2 32GB to my mother and got my new iPad 32GB. all the music, needed apps, and etc stored into iPhone. Few games, ebooks, newspaper, and video are used with iPad. The size of the apps did get bigger because of retina display but its not as much as we should be worry about. unless you are planning to install pre-installed map nagivation apps. Even I stored bunch of ebooks, 30 apps, 10 of 720p video, 3 of 1080p video, my 32GB iPad still has more than 30-40% of free spaces.

If you are heavy loaders, obviously you have to go with 64GB since it is the largest. But for people who cares about what they pay for(money=performance), 32GB is the best option IMO. 32GB more for $100 is bit overkill and 16GB is too small for overall iPad usage.

I got the 64 gig (wifi only).

I've used 30.7 gigs so far (mostly music and apps). I'm glad I don't have to worry about space.

If they had a 128G version, I would still pick the 64G.

I guess I could live with the 16 or 32 gig versions if I wanted to manage my storage usage carefully.

Here is a normal day on my 64GB model.

And right now I don't have any movies on the iPad just 3 TV Shows in 1080p.

I try to keep 5GB or so free so I can easily download and install apps or videos to the iPad while on the go.

Terabyte SSD at this stage, let alone in an iPad? Expect to pay at least 5 grand.

16GB, perfect for a user who like too use apps, games, books, surf internet etc

No need more space

I personally have a 64 gig but I am a power user. For just about anyone else I strongly recommend they consider a 16 gig and if they were comfortable spending more money for storage they consider getting a 3G/LTE version. In my opinion having the device be an "always on" Internet connected device is a dramatically different (and improved) experience over the very limited benefits to having an additional 16 or 32 GB of space.

I went with the 64GB model just like I have for the iPad 1 and iPad 2. I like to be on the safe side since I can't add more storage later. I can probably get by with a 32GB model, but whenever I travel, I load up the iPad with movies and TV shows so I can watch it on the plane. The 64GB will allow me to do that, and maybe some extra storage to transfer some of my vacation photos before I get home. For me, $100 is a small price to pay for the extra assurance :)

Had a 16GB wifi + 3G iPad 2 and I decided I wanted a bit more space this time around. So, I went with a 32GB wifi + 4G model. It's perfect for my needs.

64 gig white lte cause I use this for everything and take it out as my portable laptop, so my entire librarys on here and all the pic /vids indeed ....

When I tether iPhone 5 I'll be getting a 16 gb

64gb. Thinking if I'm going to spend this much money on a tablet, another $100 to double the storage sets my mind at ease for future needs.

I got the 64 gb because I have every us VFR chart, IFR chart and approach plates loaded on my iPad plus I have a few movies at a time and tons of apps and music

Started with 32GB, went to 64GB and back down to 32GB. Realized I don't need all 40GB of my music on the device and wanted to save some money. My 64GB iPhone 4S is always with me and that stores all of my music anyway.

64gb because you never have too much disk space. Unlike a laptop or iMac upgrading storage isn't an option. I was using 20gb on my iPod and expect to have more content on the iPad.

I got the 64gb wifi due to the fact they were out of the 32...

I won't lie, partially this. I was sold on a 32 even though I have a 64 phone, as I figured I wouldn't put all of my music on there (I was contemplating putting none at all, I have my phone on me almost all the time). But, I figured I'd want it on there regardless and I'd add on movies. I'd also like to put more apps that I find cumbersome on the iPhone on there, and since apps are only getting bigger, I figured I could use the room. With no 4G/LTE, I can't rely on the cloud.

Really, I had $100 I could spend and the thought of possibly running out of room (definitely would if I loaded all my music) and the total lack of 32s in the DC area pushed me over the edge.

I started out wanting a white 32, ending up with a black 64 (I agree, black makes the screen pop. Have a white 4S anyways..)

16GB. I don't keep music on mine, if I put movies on mine it's only for a short time when I'm traveling. I decided I'd rather have cellular connectivity rather than more storage that I really don't need.

64 gig, I thought my stuff would take up a lot of space.

Turns out I grossly overestimated my needs.

I tend to stream movies using airvideo rather than save them on my ipad, so that doesn't take up any space at all.

PDFs surprising take up a lot less space. My ibooks collection is just shy of 200 mb, yet takes up over 10 gb on my imac.

I don't have many games, and my core apps each take up very little space. (iworks ~ 1gb total, others like dropbox average ~ 50mb each).

All in all, I have used only about 3gb of space so far.

In hindsight, I would have been served just as well with a 16gb model. :p
