Since Barclays is in the list you might be able to setup your barclaycard.

I'm with Barclays so perhaps. I just don't want Apple blocking the entire Apple Pay UI because it is not out here yet. Kinda like iTunes Radio, which just doesn't show up at all in the UI. Guess we will see in a few hours

Why would anyone want to give their debit/credit card details unnecessarily to a third party?

Sure, I may use Apple Pay when it hits the UK, but I won't be giving my card details out until I'm sure I can and will use the service.

I'm going to guess before 10am eastern since Apple stores open here then and I'd imagine people will want to test it out.

To be honest it wouldn't surprise me even if they did. Guess we just have to wait till 6pm to find out.

Here we go again. You need to read on how Apple Pay works. It does not store your card details. It tokenizes the card information so when you tap your phone, the reader gets a device account number rather than your actual numbers. It's more secure than stripe or Chip & PIN

Your Passbook probably will look the same it does now in 8.0.2, despite the misleading picture of a credit card on the icon :-(

You are of course quite right, my error entirely. That said, I still wouldn't enter any information unnecessarily into any interface, even if the risk is negligible.

Well, it appears that I was wrong in regard to my thinking of when 8.1 would drop. I was thinking that with the Apple Pay element, Apple would drop it to us sooner so that the east coast could have it going earlier in the day. :(

Apple Pay or not Apple is still Apple and historically all iOS, and Mac OS updates were always 10AM PST
