This!

Apple seems on a crossroad, between x86 tech and arm tech, between iOS and OSX. Etc.
The last year or so, it is made obvious Apple is too dependent of Intel and their delays in releasing new cpu' s. Perhaps Apple is exploring different ways to lessen that dependence.

I don' t know, something is up . just a gut feeling. Apple is brewing something.

Maybe I'm the only one, but doesn't "the tvOS operating system" sound really weird?
Is probably you man,I love my Apple TV 4 and this new update makes it even more like my iPhone,I'm down with that!!!!

Perhaps, but the Macbook Pro is severly overkill for me (specwise). The 12" Macbook has an awkward keyboard and lack of I/O ports. That leaves the Macbook Air, which would be perfect for me, but it has a 2010 screen.
That's very true,I hope Apple doesn't take the Mac air away from the market instead update it adding a Retina display,a couple of usb 3.1 and one regular 3.0 for old devices, hdmi,sd card slot, and maybe although unlikely a touch screen, the rest of the air is perfect as it is,give that and I'm a happy camper!!!!

11. Fix Apple Music

It's funny. I read multiple reviews saying how Apple Music and Spotify have these huge catalogs compared to Pandora... but, after test driving all three, Apple Music was by far the worst when it comes to repeats (on custom stations).

I ended up going with Pandora One, which is half the price of the other two. Maybe those giant music catalogs make a difference in some niche sub-genres; but, for stuff like Jazz and Swing, I preferred what Pandora played to the other two.

Any spoiler free threads for this event?

I know that it will be streamed live to both Mac/PC, but I just wanted to know just in case, love hanging out in the spoiler-free threads in the past.

Its going to be embarrassing when you make a tradition from showing great sales numbers at the beginning of every keynote. Why? Because there will be a moment that you cant show growing numbers. And what will you do? Show your bad numbers or don't mention them? Both options are painfull.

Perhaps 4gb memory, desktop class soc.
Lightning is a port that supports usb 3.0.
Pencil application and display is certainly superior and more precise than a PRO Wacom tablet or a Microsoft surface pro.
why is a USB port and sd card slot critical for filemanagement? Where I work I'm not allowed to even connect an external drive or SD card to my pc, I have to use cloud services .
iOS should have filemanagement though, I guess after the launch iOS pro will also be launched with more desktop like features.
You are kind of short sighted, looking at where the puck is now, you are not looking where the puck is going.
SD cards and usb drives for pc' s? Ancient history , and that is not what I would call pro. In modern businesses it is all about cloud syncing several devices to share files.

It might be ancient history in 5-10 years. By that time, iPad pro 2016 edition will be a pretty decent paperweight. File system is a must for a pro device regardless of cloud/sd card.

Yes we do. The A10X performance is impressive, on the other hand Core-M has Intels lowest TDP yet. So the fanless 12" MacBook and the iPad Pro are closer to each other than any laptop and tablet before. But to get rid of Intel you need an ARM chip for every Mac, maybe not the Mac Pro but every other performance class. The two worlds of chip design must overlap by a huge margin not just come close at the edges. That's still a long way to go.

But here's another idea, why can't AMD license its chip design like ARM does? And have the same market success! A while ago AMD split into two separate companies for chip design and chip manufacturing. Isn't it now possible for Apple to buy a license and build its own AMD-based chips for Macs as well?

You know the inner workings of Apple's ARM developments? Nice secrets to know. Envious.

I'm excited. The long awaited return of the best (and Steve Jobs approved) iPhone size with no skimping on specs (other than the worthless 3D Touch) and it will still have a 3.5mm headphone jack. Now, if Apple can bring back the 16:10 24" iMac, I would be in heaven.
Exactly

To everyone saying they can't wait until Tuesday: It would be a shame to see your disappointed faces tuning in 24hrs late.
[doublepost=1458437140][/doublepost]"What to Expect at Apple's 'Let Us Loop You In' Media Event"

I suppose, just like you, MR staff, we'll both find out on the day. Please don't pretend like you know, you haven't a clue.

They should have included 3D Touch on the new phone though. The user experience should be the same across the board regardless.

Although I don't own an iOS device with 3D touch, IMHO, 3D touch just seems to be an off-shoot of quick-look from OS X. Whereas on OSX you could quick-look using the spacebar, on an iOS device, its just pushing into the screen. The consequences of said action is the same on OSX and iOS: to make it faster to view your content.

So, I don't think that 3D touch is that big of a feature that people thinking of getting the smaller phone will miss out on.

With the utmost gracious respect, I beg to differ. 3D touch and Force Touch are in their first stages of infancy; this is HUGE, and the very smallest visible tip of a HUGE iceberg has barely been seen, yet. This is a new interaction paradigm from the people who brought UI interaction peripherals to the masses - they are well aware of gimmickry, and this is far from a gimmick, more than I can even express. Software now speaks to those who cannot see or hear it, and that's only ONE use case - this is HUGE, and since I've only owned my Magic Trackpad 2 for 3 days now, I have barely explored the ways it can assist me, but save to say the it's something which slowly creeps up on you, growing and integrating into how you work, adding another dimension (literally) to things you didn't think could get any more useful.

T(h)aptic engine from Apple: I am glad they've done it first, they're the ONLY ones who I trust to make it something others envy and will (badly) copy.

Easy - the hardware software combo, that allows you to write software, to run on an iOS device.

Kinda ironic that Apple is ignoring the COMPUTERS that make their iOS $$$ train keep rolling on.

Maybe Timmy will get one of these days. But so far he isn't.

Most of the announcements are obvious incremental stuff, but personally I'm excited by the new 9.7" iPad Pro. The Pencil is amazing, because it lets you really write and draw on a "smart piece of paper", which is something I've been waiting for a very long time. But I didn't want to carry around a huge iPad - I like keeping things small and light, so a MacBook Air and iPad Air work great for me. But if I could swap the iPad Air for an iPad Pro the same size, that'd be perfect!
...then take a look at the Microsoft surface pro 4. I'm using the surface pro 3 at work (while I wait for my skylake 17inch or 15 MacBook pro) and it's genuinely awesome .
