Though all of us technically thinking might not like the "control" Apple has over their products.

Your very last sentence concisely sums up exactly why Apple are SO successful, and why their designs work SO well, if you will excuse me stating an obvious point that is more blinding than the sun :D

Apple don't (and shouldn't) care too much what people think about their control over their own products. I trust their input and control over their platforms more than ANY other technology vendor, bar none. They have, time and again, proven themselves to be ethical and responsible, with a fun and light-hearted, intelligent sense of how to do business, coupled with HUGE doses of good taste and extreme attention being paid to how others perceive them and their products, and how said products work. People often mis-construe Apple as being "arrogant" - they mistake HUGE confidence and forward-thinking for "arrogance", where the traits could come across as almost identical, but the truth is that Apple look forward and are EXTREMELY decisive and confident, and, because most companies are only interested in keeping up with one another whilst trying to APPEAR to be forward thinking and independent, lip service, if you will.

The majority of technology companies seem incapable of seeing past their noses to the end of the YEAR, so, by contrast, no wonder Apple come across as "arrogant" to those incapable of the depth and breadth of their thought processes.

You forgot to mention that their shirts are untucked and none of them wear a decent pair of shoes.

Well, I think that's implied when they leave the carefully placed top button open. Just to show how hip they are :)

If Apple buys Go Pro then I know it's time to sell my Apple Stock.

While the refresh cycle is tied to Intel, Apple is way too slow in today's world. The Retina MBP has 2013 guts.. And I have been waiting since then!

Apple got ripped for their pathetic graphics just last week.. Been critics have been laying into them for years about this. Apple continues to ignore. A lot of pros have abandoned the Mac for the PC.

I use a Mac and a PC at work, it's not like the old days.. A PC is stable and works just as well. Mac cannot make the same claims it once did. Nor can they count on phones and tablets forever.

My iPhone 6+ is buggy, had to wipe and reinstall 2 times this year.. That's Apple?

iMac, USB 3 is not working with all devices (OWC Maximus) since upgrading to this latest OS, don't remember the name, don't care anymore.

Disk Utility.. Don't need to say anything else

Ports.. While my wife doesn't need them on the Reina MacBook, I do and so if they launch a Pro MBP without ports.. I'm getting the Lenovo notebook with a XEON, 64GB, 17 inch screen, and multiple HDDS. Now that's a pro notebook!

If there is no Mac updates at this event, something is very wrong at Apple.

If I were you I would sell all my Apple products and go and live on an Island, you will feel more relaxed, and be surrounded by silicon that doesn't frustrate you :p

Enjoy your Lenovo with embedded UEFI trojan:

Is your daughter not into handbags/purses?
Maybe it's a younger persons thing to put a phone in your jeans pocket, but as a female I've always put my phone in my bag. Bear in mind that I don't get my first phone until I was 16 and this was way before the smartphone era.

I know men have an obsession with putting things in their jeans or shirt pocket but I thought most women put things in their handbags??
I see many young women keep their phone in their jeans pocket, especially their back pocket, which seems precarious and uncomfortable for sitting, but it's definitely "a thing".

So, watching the live stream wouldn't interest you, huh? Let ask you: are you tired of Apple's "same ol thing?" Or what is the reason that you rather read MR topics? Just curious.
I will be watching the keynote this summer at WWDC, and the one in the fall. I'm not at all tired of them.

This one happens to be for products that don't interest me much. As I said in my original post, I don't want a 4 inch phone, or a 9 inch Pro tablet, and I'm good with the watch bands I have.

When I say I'm not interested, it's not a euphemism for anything else. I don't in any way mean to suggest I'm angry, annoyed, or even disappointed. I'm just not interested in this particular presentation.

Events aren't like they used to be. Now-a-days we know almost everything they are going to announce, even pricing. I hope Apple surprises me with something we don't know already...

Yeah they will, with a even bigger price tag than rumored. :D

Still trying to figure out who needs to pair multiple Apple Watches with their iPhone.

I expect a substantial portion of the event will actually be to talk about encryption to the media and anyone else watching while they have a captive audience.

Apple will hold its first event of 2016 next Monday, and while it won't be as exciting as last year's event that saw the launch of the Apple Watch, Apple is planning to introduce several new products. Headlining the event will be the 4-inch iPhone SE, Apple's first 4-inch iPhone since 2013.

Joining the iPhone SE will be a new 9.7-inch iPad, a range of new Apple Watch bands, and software updates for iOS 9, watchOS 2, tvOS, and OS X El Capitan.

How about looping us into an updated 15" Retina MacBook Pro? It's been quite a while since we've had a significant update.

Now there's a useless product if I ever used one. You hoard a phone full of statistics that amount to... what?
Hate if you wish but were the only dumb ones paying 400+ for a device that does pretty much the same thing as a 200 one. Fitbits are EVERYWHERE I have yet to meet anyone but me that is happy about their AW

They do make computers, but it hasn't been their core business since 2007.
[doublepost=1458522170][/doublepost]…better health?

Better health is found by eating less trash, getting off your back side to turn over the TV, finding ANY excuse to walk instead of driving... how many remote African tribes with INCREDIBLE life spans, natural, nutritious lives and happiness levels, have a FitBit? :D - I don't need some digital band to tell me I am a lard-arse, I know it, and will take (un)common sense step to remedy it :)

You use the word "hate" as if I did; I didn't "hate" it - that word is bandied about FAR too freely, I just found it useless.

Sounds good enough.

I assume Apple can afford to hire competent lawyers, so he won't say a word about any of it,

I'd go even further, I'd be disappointed if they do talk about the FBI issue or anything related. Would seem unprofessional to drag this out of court into the public like this.

They won't. This is a product event, not a lawyer's convention; the masters of marketing are well aware of there being a time and a place for everything. It will probably be implied in some way, possibly they've developed an IRREVERSIBLE encryption firmware variant and will delight in marketing it whilst rubbing it HARD in the FBI's face, which I'd enjoy immensely.

Well prepare to be dissapointed. This battle with the Feds has a major public support component to it, and Cook is likely going to plead his case on every soap box he can get. The event was likely moved to Monday for exactly this reason. Apple typically likes to host events on Tuesdays, and this was rumored for last Tuesday prior to the hearing date being set.
