Apple will hold its first event of 2016 next Monday, and while it won't be as exciting as last year's event that saw the launch of the Apple Watch, Apple is planning to introduce several new products. Headlining the event will be the 4-inch iPhone SE, Apple's first 4-inch iPhone since 2013.

Joining the iPhone SE will be a new 9.7-inch iPad, a range of new Apple Watch bands, and software updates for iOS 9, watchOS 2, tvOS, and OS X El Capitan.

If Apple only releases the products rumored then this is a non-event. It would have been fine to just add them to their home page. There is absolutely nothing new to show. Two products that feature specifications from earlier announced products but with smaller screens.

The rumors of the "iphone se" have been so all over the place that I feel that the actual release is going to be no where near what's been rumored. At least I'm hoping.

And with lower respectively higher entry prices for the smallest iPhone and midsize iPad. The +80% smartphone market share that is Android only exists because of price. $100 more or less can make the difference between affordable luxury and pure luxury. Besides there have been so many artist impressions of how the iPhone SE might look like, it's time to show the real thing.

you have a point. no need for watch bands and ipad 9.7" with specs from the 12.9"
the only one could have a 10-20 min show can be the smaller iphone..but not more than 20 min. so you have a big point. maybe lets say even for ipad 9.7" with the redesign shouldnt take more than 20 min...so we are left with 1 hour. i hope for macbook 12" update with availability since tomorrow and a redesign 13" and 15" MBP with availability since next month

I don't think this event is going to be as big a let down as people seem to think. I for one am really interested in what the smaller iPhone will bring to the table (even though I won't replace my 6s), I am very interested in iOS 9.3 and I am half expecting a sneaky hardware refresh for at least one of the Mac hardware lines. I also am very interested in seeing what happens to the iPad Air 2 price with the new pro released and if it will get a good price reduction, If it does then I will finally jump from the iPad 2 I use.

what happened to the iPod?!? Been MIA for 4 years now.

sales tanked because the market has moved on. everybody listens to music via apps on their phones and computers now, nobody carries around a separate device. Ipods were great back when we didnt have smartphones with more than 8GB of storage. I don't expect the iPod brand to survive much longer

If all that's released is what's rumours then I'll be completely underwhelmed. I understand the potential demand for the iPhone SE with a smaller screen but it's not something that interests me. I am more likely to wait until the iPhone 7 before upgrading my device.

The new iPad Pro (9.7) seems like it's a worthy successor to the iPad Air 2 but I'm concerned about the extra $100 added to the rumoured price. Unless that comes with a Pencil included this doesn't show good value for money. The current price point is in a sweet spot between landfill tablets and the more expensive Macbook Air.

New Watch straps are always welcomed but they've got to drop the price a little. Almost £400 for a steel strap when I can get a knockoff on Amazon for 10% of that is wildly too expensive. Apple should drop the strap prices by at least 20-25%. I'd like to see more style variations and more leather options. NATO style straps hold little interest for me.

The Mac line however is absent from all the rumours. This is why I still cross my fingers for some surprises. New Retina Macbook Pro announcements would be brilliant, even if they don't ship for another month or two as would upgrades to the Mac Mini and Mac Pro.

Are you kidding? That move has Schiller's fingerprints all over it.
Yeah but i had trouble thinking of an executive that was known for being generous so I just pretended one was and chose someone at random

Apple's 'Let Us Loop You In' Media Event
I don't think you can loop me in anymore, Apple. I use my (real) watch for knowing the time, I use my phone for calling and for messaging, and I'm not a facebook user. I belong to the Mac market segment you neglected.

Let this most exciting Apple keynote ever come – I've got my sixpack Red Bull ready to stay awake through the whole thing!

How come no one is analyzing the "let us loop you in" message? Isn't this part of the anticipation for Apple events?

I wouldn't think they would choose such a title just for a couple of watch bands.

this will be a long night here in Europe then, ... let's hope for the best ;-)

I got my bottle of coke(s) to keep me awake.

Maybe it's too difficult to read between the lines this time. ?

Perhaps its as simple as "we'll keep giving, so u'll keep staying"

Kind of "fitting" isn't it thanks to the FBI vs Apple's case though..

so your watch can't notify you when your heart rate is going crazy, your watch can't notify you in a meeting, so you pay for an object that lives more than you

I'll see if I can tune in, I can eat my dinner at the same time as it will be around 6PM here.
If I have the funds I'll buy the new iPad for my mum, the speakers will be really good as she watches a lot of catch up telly on it. She has an iPad 3 si it will be quite the upgrade haha.

Similar here man, it start's 1am my local time. I need to maintain a caffeine supply...

As for loops, there's many interpretations - I immediately just thought it was a pun on the location - 1 infinite loop (and watch straps like the millanaise loop).

Could mean they're looping 'round to fill in the iOS product line gaps - normal sized iPhones and iPads?

It starts at 5pm this evening, the USA moved the clocks forward for DST last weekend.

If Apple buys Go Pro then I know it's time to sell my Apple Stock.

While the refresh cycle is tied to Intel, Apple is way too slow in today's world. The Retina MBP has 2013 guts.. And I have been waiting since then!

Apple got ripped for their pathetic graphics just last week.. Been critics have been laying into them for years about this. Apple continues to ignore. A lot of pros have abandoned the Mac for the PC.

I use a Mac and a PC at work, it's not like the old days.. A PC is stable and works just as well. Mac cannot make the same claims it once did. Nor can they count on phones and tablets forever.

My iPhone 6+ is buggy, had to wipe and reinstall 2 times this year.. That's Apple?

iMac, USB 3 is not working with all devices (OWC Maximus) since upgrading to this latest OS, don't remember the name, don't care anymore.

Disk Utility.. Don't need to say anything else

Ports.. While my wife doesn't need them on the Reina MacBook, I do and so if they launch a Pro MBP without ports.. I'm getting the Lenovo notebook with a XEON, 64GB, 17 inch screen, and multiple HDDS. Now that's a pro notebook!

If there is no Mac updates at this event, something is very wrong at Apple.

I'd like to see some clear, concrete substantiation for your claims. These "pros" you speak of - you realise that "pro" means "of a profession", which is just about anyone in employment, right? A "pro" burger flipper or a "pro" shoe saleswoman are equally valid titles. Any highly skilled creative person with a complex digital workflow who values their time and their money, doesn't just "abandon" Apple because some random bloke on a forum says they do.

The point of Macs is Mac OS X and how it is finely tuned with Apple hardware, and the support Apple back that up with. If you're saying that some random Windows pc is LESS stressful to setup and work on day to day, and has better support than a Mac, I don't believe you're an experienced Mac user or Apple customer.
