The Mac delays are down to Intel.
Apple will replace Intel with ARM...the writing is on the wall.

Not yet though. There is no such thing as an ARM chip that would rival a top-spec 15" MacBook Pro for example, let alone a baseline 13" still... Just a little ways off. Not dissing you totally, it is certainly a possibility but not just yet I don't think. And I don't think anybody would like to totally rewrite everything to work with ARM either, including Apple. It will take awhile for it to happen. The Mac delays are down to Intel.

Tim Cook:
Today it's like christmas.... No wait..
We have the best displays... No wait..
New iPhone? No new iPhones? Any iPads maybe?
... Apple watch?
Ok Lets go on to the sales numbers... No?
....
Ok thank you for coming.
Holy crap yeah. It is just disgusting that a MacBook is being sold in 2016 still with a 1440x900 display. Would be sweet if it received the color options seen with the 12" MacBook too! But then I feel the MacBook Air would canabalize the 12" MacBook. It would look just as good, it would have better specs, more ports, better keyboard, etc. Just be a little thicker/heavier.
I am hoping to see the MBA continue, but I have a sneaking suspicion it will be killed in favor of a simpler MacBook and MacBook Pro line up.
The space gray, silver, gold, and rose gold colors on the invitation seem like it would be for something more major than simply being the colors for new iPad and 4" iPhone, it's simply too obvious. Imagine a totally refreshed MacBook line up, totally new designs, new specs, new colors, even for the MBA and MBPs! It has been far too long since the last MacBook line up, maybe they've been waiting for something big.
Sales and basically market share. As long as their numbers grow, their stock goes up and more money they make.
They're just following Apple's lead.Hey Macrumors, you know what else desperately needs a refresh and what you never talk about?
MAC PRO
It was last updated in 2013. It's now 2016. Think about that. All you do is talk about iDevices and laptops and iMacs, yet you seem to completely ignore the Mac Pro in every single Apple event and hardware update article. Why is that?
AAPL is trading where it was 3.5 years ago...
Yeah I feel the same, if the MBA was properly updated, the 12" MB I feel would have not sold hardly at all compared to the MBA. There were WAY too many compromises for thinness with the 12" MB. I'd pick the MBA 100 times over the MB. Love the design and display of the MB but MBA can get much more done and has more ports, better keyboard etc.I really do hope they don't kill the MBA (at least the 13''), yet. I'm holding out getting one, as I do hope for an upgrade in some of the specs.
I don't think the MBA is any competition to the MB, yet. At least not the 13" model. There are many many people out there who just love and prefer the MBA to a MB or MBP any time for what it is: enough power to get more done than just writing an email sitting in Starbucks, yet way more portable than the MBP. I just don't think the MB is there, yet, regarding power, ports, ...that awful keyboard. Besides, 12'' really is a tat too small for serious working (such as continuous writing or photography). I still don't get why they re-introduced the 12'' (and yes, I am aware many long-term Apple users kinda missed the 12'' powerbooks...). It seems out of place among the 13" and 15" models...

Indeed, it is a shame that Intel hasn't released the Skylake chips that are needed for the 13" MBP, the MBAs and the Mac mini after shipping the first production Skylake chips last August. And if they don't update MacBook-line with skylake soon it is a shame.
What a roundabout way of saying the 5c was a rehoused version of the 5.Um, no. The 5C was an entry-level version of the 5S with lesser internals.
Feel better now?The same way they always do. They'll put the capacities and the prices on the screen behind him. If you're wanting bloodshed or something more exciting, watch a Trump rally.
In my opinion the MB has it's value. There are many many people out there who don't do much more than surfing the web or writing an occasional email. The MB is more than fine for those (though, they might get an iPad instead). At the moment the MB is especially one thing: a design statement. Nothing more and nothing less. Like the very first MBA.
However, I do think Apple should swap the prices of the MB and the MBA. Make the MB the entry-level macbook (and I'm pretty sure it would appeal to even more people). I don't mind paying a little more for the MBA, as long as it's just continued and gets an upgrade (I don't even mind about retina, although of course I would love to see the MBA getting retina - but I highly doubt it).
All in all, the whole lineup is sort of wonky at the moment, swapped prices or not lol.
If they simply killed the MBA and kept the rMBP, (I hope that's the computer we've been talking about the whole time, I completely forget they still sell the old non-retina MBP) same prices and everything, that would be insane. $1300 for the 12" MB with basically no ports, crap keyboard and crap specs, or $1300 for the baseline top-of-the-line Retina MacBook Pros with all the ports, much, much better specs, slightly larger screen, much better keyboard... Apple would be nuts to do that, barely any MBs would sell because I think it's a no-brainer when looking at the 13" rMBP vs the 12" MB. But then again.. 12" MBs still sold, even though the prices are the same.. only difference is that MBA is in the mix for the cheap. And exactly that makes me worry that they might discontinue the MBA already, after all. They can't swap prices (I doubt they'll bring retina to the MBA, it would be too close to the MBP both in specs and price -unless they increase the price of the MBP) but the way it is now just doesn't make sense to anyone who's slightly thinking about best-bang-for-the-buck (which are a LOT of people who are the ACTUAL target group of the MB). If they drop the MBA, they can almost keep the price of the MB...there's no comparison.
