Amazing they still mention Lighting cables. Come on Apple. USB-C only please. I want to carry just one charger and USB-C cable for MBP, phone, iPad Pro, etc.

As the tariff would come right off the top of Apple’s net margin, there’s no way they’re going to eat it.

An diehard Apple buyers will pay 15-20% more.

I just bought an iPad Pro if that gives you an idea of my thoughts of the new one that won’t be announced.

I just bought a 2017 iPad Pro at a HUGE discount because it's still better than the brand new regular iPads. Couldn't be happier. Love this thing.

32" 5K display would be nice. I can't believe there are only 27" 5K displays (16:9).
I am hoping for a “one More Thing....” of exactly that, and still a 27 inch as well, a set of 5K monitors to choose from.
The real important bit is they go with a new Mac Pro for the rest of us.
Bonus shock if either an AMD CPU, or Apple makes Nvidia drivers.

Samsung phones are so much nicer these days. If the mock ups are accurate, the new phone will be fugly!

For me the iPhone is primarily a phone (dare I say?) supplemented with decent photographic and other useful functionality in one very convenient and useful handheld device. That said, if you really "like to use the best possible camera equipment" then perhaps you would be better served by a dedicated high end digital camera.
I only occasionally speak on the phone. This is an integrated internet connected device to me. Describing the latest iPhone as having only decent photographic capability doesn’t do it justice.

Ipnone XS takes extraordinary photos and is usually in my pocket. I’m not trying to carry around a camera. I look forward to the continued cutting-edge hardware / sw / optical combo Apple has pushed forward each and every year.

Maybe yes, maybe no.

If no, do you think Apple will pay that tariff off the top of their 21% net margin?

If neither consumer or Apple will pay it, the tariff sure sounds like a good recipe for heading towards a recession.

More winning!

If we were looking to spend money on a new phone this year, my wife would be buying a Samsung. She's bored with Apple -- and I don't blame her. Her opinion is very likely to remain the same on Tuesday, based on the rumors. iPhone XSS is yawn-inducing.

That’s not really the case. He designed this year’s, next year’s (the 2020s will lock soon) and maybe 2021’s models as well. And if he continues working with Apple, who knows, maybe the next ten or twenty years, too.
“Continues to work with...”
HE LEFT!!!

I switched a few years ago. I like being able to insert a micro-SD from Amazon to expand storage rather than having to pay Apple a ton of money. And my Galaxy s10+ already has 3 cameras (wide angle, normal, telephoto).

Re: Service Updates: Screen pops out of Series 3 stainless models, too. I know because I now have my wife's watch to prove it. Apple isn't yet recognizing claims on Series 3 stainless models (only aluminum), even when the watch is under warranty. Very bad look for Apple at the moment.

Apple will announce one more thing ... The "Mac". Scaled down MacPro with an 5K iMac monitor.

*wakesupfromawonderfuldream*
Well, Apple could give us a cut-down Mac Pro, but only if people were willing to pay $5,499 for it.

re: a 27” iMac-type monitor, I have no idea why Apple doesn’t make one. I think people (at least you and I lol) would pay $1,499 for it, but maybe there aren’t enough of us :(

Wideband wireless is the theorized technology needed for communication with the AR glasses so that processing can stay on the phone. Apple laying the groundwork early as always...

I find it really coincidental that at the time we finally get Dark Mode launched is the same time Johnny Ivy has left. Remember how he campaigned on bright whites.

The renders from Ben Geskin actually look really good, I think having the integrated, body-coloured camera square makes a real difference. The logo being centred vertically without the 'iPhone' below also looks quite clean. Really wasn't a fan based on first renders, but arguably these actually look better/ more refined than the X/S.

I actually think his render is the worst of them all.

IF the camera lenses really have diameters as large as what his render shows, then please DO fill the whole square in in black.

But IF the camera lenses are like half that diameter, then I think it will look fine with the body colored glass between.

And however I look at it, the centered Apple logo is ungainly looking and really makes the product look dated.

I am curious to see the final version from Apple. I know it's all but confirmed that the Apple logo will be centered and the space between the lenses will be the same color as the back glass, but god help us all if the diameter of the camera lenses is that large (yes, I know it would serve a function, but it doesn't mean it's any less ugly to me).

Quite honestly, if the phone looks like Gaskin's renders, this could be the ugliest phone ever, and we all know how ugly the 3G/3Gs were...

That camera hump...ugh:eek:

Right? They should just make the whole iPhone thicker to match the hump. That way, although the iPhone is thicker, they will have more space for better camera sensors and battery. I would love for the iPhone to have a 3-chip sensor.

That's an interesting point.

Honestly, while I'm really looking forward to the change of pace afforded by dark mode (have it on my Mac and will not go back to light mode), I always liked the really clean/bright design of iOS 7 with the ultra thin fonts. So light and clean, and the retina screen allowed you to have those thin fonts because they looked so sharp and crisp.

But then somewhere along the line Apple started plugging in huge, ugly, overly bold fonts and now some apps just look like crap. I mean, why?

In the minority here, but I'm more excited about the possibility for a 2nd gen iPhone SE next year.
I'm with you. I hate my current iPhone but I dislike the current offerings even more (including the rumoured new phones as they stand).
