New Macbook Pro's or bust. Are they really going to sell the 2015 model more than half way through 2016?

Yes. Because I am waiting to upgrade, they will sell it till almost the end of 2016 as the money burns in my savings.... I might event earn a whole 2 cents in interest before it comes out.

Wow, things just aren't the same anymore. These events use to be so exciting and you couldn't wait till it started. Apple has lost its spark and its very sad. If whats posted above is close to the truth I feel sorry for those attending. Boring and disappointed.

Apple has shifted focus entirely. It used to be about making great devices and software for the consumer.

Now, it's about turning all your stuff into stores for Apple and developers. They want everything to be a service, complete with forced updates, cloud requirements, etc.

And they do this while still charging a premium for their outdated hardware.

The magic is gone, and it will be dearly missed.

Well, can't wait for that dark mode and Siri everything...(am I the only one who doesn't care about Siri?)

Hope there will be more than that, but I won't be surprised if that's most of what we see -_-

This is why Apple needs to work on a car. So they can be the underdog again.

You forgot:

8) "People love their Apple Products" or
9) "We think you're going to love it"

"Incredible..." He overuses and misuses the word, which obviously means "not credible", and isn't something that they want to say in the context of corporate performance, product improvements or customer satisfaction.

Cue people fainting in the aisles as Cook announces mundane feature that Android users have had for years. Followed by calls for Cook to be beatified for his extraordinary vision.

So much negativity. sigh. I'm looking forward to the announcements. They can't all be life shattering break through item. Sometimes the slow, incremental changes are just as important.

I'm not entirely sure how Siri will be useful on a Mac. I see the benefit on a cell phone, and especially on the watch. I rarely use it in my iPad. Basically the more convenient the input and navigation method, the less I need Siri.

Siri seems the most reliable for setting reminders, so perhaps that's something I can use it for on the Mac as well, particularly if I'm working in another app and don't want to stop. Then again, when I'm working on my Mac it's not that hard to just quickly do it myself.

I have to assume Apple is just trying to get us used to vocal commands on all products in preparation for their whole-house systems.

My biggest complaint with Siri is that when my iPad and iPhone are sitting together and I yell "hey Siri" they both answer, often making a mess of things. What's going to happen when the Mac responds too?

I would love to get the two Siris into conversation but I think since they immediately forget context that won't be possible... unless Apple rolls out an update as well as mac0$ integration.

Seems like plenty are discussing the rumors and can't wait for it to get started. So...

9) "We think you're going to love it"

These two phrases sum up my feelings towards Cook's and Apple's keynote speeches in general.
The marketing clichés are hard to stomach.
I find myself wanting for Tim to give the stage to anyone else on the Apple team - that grinding voice and accent are hard to stomach and God forbid Jimmy Iovine should speak. The last time I remember he seemed completely unprepared as though he forgot his anti anxiety and adhd meds.
Craig Federighi on the other hand is much easier on the eye and has a nice, even timbre to his voice.

People expect too much from WWDC. It's always about the software and we're lucky if we get any hardware announcements.

TBH I'd quite like to see an Apple without Cook. Feel like he's playing the company way too safe. Apple is literally sitting on billions, they can afford to actually attempt innovation and have a brand new product category fail horribly with little to not side effects for the company. But all he's interested in is keeping the company ticking over and maintaining the current products, rather than actually making anything new. I don't think the 'Apple Car' is anything like what people are thinking, it could literally just be CarPlay development.

Agree. I was hoping to buy my daughter a laptop before she heads off for college this fall. You'd think Apple would update the line before 'back to school', but I'm not holding my breath. Not crazy about compromising with the current MacBook lines (Air-bad screen, MB - bad keyboard/overpriced, MPB - older specs), but may end up going that route. I have zero faith in Apple to 'wow' us these days.

Would love to see iMessage go to Android though. Always thought it was designed to be a 'universal' application.

I still use a mid 2012 MacBook Pro retina for design/graphic/development/video work at my job just fine. Highly doubt your daughter is gonna cry about not having the latest specs for college, where it'll just be on Facebook 90% of the time.

Hey if you send the money to me, I can DOUBLE it by the time the MacBook Pro comes out. Then I'll send it back over to you the day of the announcement.

Trust me. o_O

I'm actually really excited! I want the new redesigned MacBook Pro, but if it isn't unveiled at WWDC, then I don't mind. I'm more excited for iOS 10 to see if it really opens up the 12.9 iPad Pro!

Isn't that basically visual voicemail, where it gives you a text transcription of what the caller left? I've been getting those for years.

I can just imagine the problems with Siri answering your missed calls telling them where you are.

Boss: I'm calling to see how you're feeling, we missed you at work today
Siri: John is unavailable, he is currently at the beach
Boss: You're fired.

*chuckles* That's boses for ya. Can't even enjoy a nice vacation

It will come, question is, will it be faster than the 2012 mini
It will have a single core CPU, no GPU, 2 GB RAM, and a 4200 rpm miniature hard drive.

According to Phil Schiller, the current Mini is simply "too fast" for the "low-class, vagrant, cheap bastards" who currently use them and can't afford the more luxurious models. "They're the same sort who are likely to stow away in a plane's cargo hold," he quipped while sipping his cappuccino with pinky extended.

Just because a feature/product already exists doesn't mean Apple can't improve and revamp the said product/feature.

Look at what Apple did with the iPod, iPhone and iPad. All 3 of those product categories already existed when Apple brought theirs to the market.

If Apple wants to bring a Google Voice type voicemail transcription service I'm willing to bet it will have more thought put into it than the existing service.
How many more years is this middle paragraph gonna be rolled out as if its relevant anymore. You can only reinvent the wheel once!!!

And the old.. "they will do it right" bobbins.. jeez.. their software is a joke right now!!

Agree with this wholeheartedly. There is very few majors, maybe some graphics or engineering and science majors, that would see any difference. Most college students use Facebook 90% of time and any damn laptop can do that.

That being said, I would love to see some hints of a Mac mini and Mac Pro refresh. Only been 2 and 3 years respectively...
