For iOS, I'm hoping for a revamped Music app, redesigns of a lot of the system wide design elements, a complete overhaul of iOS on the iPad, the ability to turn off all that crap that they added to Messages last year.

For OSX, I just want better memory management in Safari and overall stability. 7 tabs shouldn't creep up to over 2GB worth of RAM usage requiring a relaunch of the application every day. In fact, I shouldn't have to restart my Mac every few days to clear out my RAM and make my TimeMachine drive appear again. I left this **** behind in Windows. I don't want new useless features like Siri and the **** from iOS that I'm sure they'll add to Messages. I just want OSX to run as well as it did up until Yosemite.

Yep I'm gonna be disappointed. But at least I'll probably get new emojis to express my disappointment and some new "features" stolen from popular childish social media apps. Maybe some new Watch Bands...oh wait they get announced at hardware events right? Maybe a native fidget spinner app?

Why would I want a MUSIC app that focuses on VIDEO!?! It already focuses too much on the dumb album art and not easy control of the MUSIC. They do know that people use these apps while DRIVING, right? Yes, you're not supposed to, but everyone does at least for starting music, changing tracks, etc..., so they really need to be designing with that at least a little bit in mind.

I'd like to see a video app that doesn't try to force streaming down your throat, stop functioning in airplane mode, and remembers what was playing when you go back to it.

This one just popped up in my head, but its possible there could be a merger with iOS and macOS. Not just at the file system level, but in a more substantial way in regards to maybe API's and Graphical User Interface. Meaning, iOS and macOS both die to form AppleOS powering iPhone, iPads and Macs. The operating system will be intelligent enough to provide the best features and experience across devices, optimized with functionality to make users more productive. Yes, this means Apple would be introducing a new platform with a major name change again.

Cook has said that is not their plan. He insists that the touch and non-touch environments can’t co-exist in a practical manner. However, I believe the two OS’s should reconcile how common tasks are labeled and performed. It’s confusing when one OS has more options than the other. For example, the Contacts app on iOS has a subset of the organization abilities of Contacts on MacOS. This is illogical considering that you likely add contacts when you’re mobile.

A merger of the two OS’s is not likely to happen until the majority of customers desire it. The bulk of Apple’s customers probably own just the phone, and perhaps a tablet. The next segment own a phone and laptop. The rest of us own one of everything, and we still depend on desktop hardware for our occupations—but we’re a minority. Not in the world per se, but as Apple customers.

honestly don't see the point of keeping the Air. When it was first released, it made sense, because it was much thinner than the other offerings. Now the other laptops are not that different to the air, I don't see the point of keeping them.
I would like to see Apple return to the Home/Pro division of products that they used to offer. Far too many options for my liking, it makes it hard for consumers to choose. MacBook and MacBook Pro. Mac mini and Mac Pro. iPad and iPad pro. Dump the rest.

The fact that I don't give a crap about the WWDC 17 is making me sad and upset. I miss how it used to make me feel, the anticipation, and excitement, knowing that it was approaching...
Yet most of why it isn't as amazing as it used to be isn't because Apple isn't innovative. Rather, all the markets Apple is in are saturated and dense with innovative companies. Any one thing Apple does doesn't stand out as much as it used to.

So this keynote is going to last the whole day then? I honestly thought laptops would see a speed bump a week before, with a little press release but we've run out of time.

As it is I guess they will have a 5 minute laotop announcemnt after the inevitable update on Apple Park, then the main body of the keynote is software with one hardware 'surprise' at the end.

Logically that would be the Siri speaker because they want to engage developers, but I still have a hard time believing it exists at all :p

Just remember guys. Apple has a very low tolerance for insubordination. Anyone caught speaking badly about Apple Monday will have all their Apple products confiscated. And you will be forced to use nothing but Android products for a minimum of 1 yr. That is directly from them man up top...

So basically, like exiling one to South Korea so they can see the infamous Wall from the other side. 'Change will do you good.' the song title goes.

I say ‘usually’ because the iMacs are a compromise in performance—forget 3D modeling.

huh? iMacs are freaking awesome for 3D modeling.. what computer, any brand/any price, is going to run 3D modeling software better than an imac?

---
(i mean, there are certainly computers that can run 3D modeling software equally well as an imac.. or maybe slightly better if comparing via a benchmark.. but user noticeable performance differences? where?)

Wait til you ask about the invisibility of the calculator on any iPad.
swipe right ;)
or is that swiping left ?? : )

same goes for spotlight on mac.. way better than calculator.app (and the widgets etc).. imo.

(assuming this works on an iPad.. i don't have one.. that's a phone screenshot)

Kaby Lake MacBook Pro is what I'm hoping for. The battery life improvement will be quite noticeable in my opinion. Also, I'm somewhat hoping they put the ESC key back, as there is clearly enough space for it.

I would have considered iOS 10 a pretty major design upgrade, but I guess it wasn't as 'radical' of a change as 7 was from 6. I wonder if iOS 11 will really look that different, or if it will just have more emojis and widgets.

I'll believe 11 is as big of a visual change as iOS 7 when 3rd party app makers are scrambling to update the look of their icons again!

I'm not sure why some people are expecting a major overhaul of the interface. It's still fairly young and fresh. I think it's more reasonable to expect further refinement.

At WWDC apple will decide to take away macbooks only remaining port. deeming it a unnecessary distraction having to plug it in all the time. They have decided it would be more of a pro device without it. Since you can no longer plug it in they have removed the battery and made it thinner. The keyboard now has no travel to distract users.

It is kinda crazy how very little has leaked about iOS 11 so far. Usually there's a fair amount of stuff this close to WWDC that's been leaked. At this point, it feels that with everything set to be shown, iOS 11 may be taking a backseat, especially if a lot of it can't be revealed until the new iPhones. Either that or we are in for a lot of surprises on Monday from iOS 11.

Real software leaks have always been more sparse than hardware.

An iMac will do the job… if you have time to kill. I can't wait till morning for a scene to finish rendering and worry that my cpu/gpu is going to overheat in the process. The i7 processor is suitable but the iMac’s graphics are the weak link.

hmm.. you said 3D modeling.

fwiw, i render on the cloud (autoDesk).. if you really want to improve your render times, i suggest looking at cloud services.. (like, on cloud, you're using supercomputers instead of some puny personal workstation -- i.e. 64,000 cpu cores vs 12 or so)
