I don't know how to feel about WWDC, especially about iOS 11. As others have mentioned, there haven't been a lot of leaks. Is this because there just isn't anything noteworthy, or because they finally kept a lid on it? I guess I'm cautiously optimistic...
Apple's much better about maintaining secrecy over software than hardware.

Compared to iPhone leaks, very little on iOS and macOS leaks each year (usually just very broad details). I'm not sure what those "others" are talking about.

With so little leaks software wise, apple is doing the 3rd year iPhone, with optimisation changes under the hood. Something tells me the software side will be very bland . Could be very well focused on the home And a speaker setup, so many finally Siri gets a major overhaul and will be the focus

Except he was always making fun of an OS that tries to be desktop and tablet. The iPad Pro is a tablet that is not trying to be a desktop OS.

It isn't a toaster fridge by any sense.

Apple always does the same, it makes fun of something they can't offer for sale.
Until at some later point they do make it, and try and forget that before they said it was wrong.

Remember this:

They hope no one remember this.... lol :)

why should Apple do a rehaul or make any big changes with iOS 11?

Millions of people will buy iPhones, no matter what, cause ''it just works'', ''iOS is so solid" and ''the Apple eco system''. And they are fully aware of this.
If Apple wants, they can continue this for years without a lot of changes or a rehaul of the OS.

No, Apple will just sit back and relax, working on the next iOS with less then minimal efforts, and wait for all those creditcards or great 24 months plans again with the new iPhone later this year.

I think contrary to what the article says we will see some desktop announced.
My bet is on the "pro" iMac.
I hope though that along with the better parts they do something about overheating and fan noise.
Keeping my fingers crossed

All 125 core engineers ceased development and are on SnapChat 24/7 collecting wallpapers currently o_O

Hoping for another update to Final Cut Pro X. Apple has hired some of the top 3rd party developers so presumably they're working on another significant update.
Wish list:
I) Better integration with Motion - the ability to take segments back and forth as was the case in FC7.
II) Better colour grading facilities including auto-tracking and Log-based changes to highlights/midtones/shadows. Resolve 14 is leaps ahead at this stage.t
III) In-built VR editing facilities.
IV) Further audio editing enhancements, ideally using the Apple's AI abilities to clean up problematic recordings in a similar manner to Izotope's RX6 Advanced.

i think there is too much for a 2h event, so Apple will make silence update for the macbook line up +12.9" and show on stage only the 10.5" ipad and the siri speaker

What I'd like them to announce is iCloud Family Plan
i.e. Subscribe to a family plan and share the storage between members

My Wife's iPhone now needs slightly more storage than is Free, but I don't want to have to give a paid plan she does not need ... I'd be nice to share my plan with her

You mean disappointment.... for you. Not everybody has that mindset or negativity that needs to entail following WWDC. Others look forward to seeing what new OS will bring to Apples lineup. And more so, it's not just a about Apple, as much as it is the developers. And if any hardware does launch and is announced, it's merely a bonus.
Jeez, just let the guy be disappointed! Can't anyone be allowed to not be a Tim/Watch Band fan?LOL

But seriously....he's right. WWDC has been nothing but disappointment for years. The WWDC keynote was always about big hardware and software releases. Now it's a platform for emoji launches. Anyone who is not disappointed by WWDC must not have been around in the late 90s wearily 2000's......as you would see and feel how truly disappointing it really is.

If you say so… apparently, new programming languages and file systems aren't developer-focused enough for you?

No. Some WWDCs introduced hardware on the side, but that was never the focus.

In the late 90s and early 2000s, WWDC was far more developer-focused than it is now, because there were other events such as Macworld Expo.

So when Apple does the same thing Monday, what excuse are you gonna find then? Let me just bite my tongue and sit back laugh next week.
