I wish they would at least tease a new iMac. My 2011 27" just died a few hours ago and there's absolutely nothing in the lineup worth upgrading into. :(

It would be interesting, if Tim Cook would announce, that they changed their mind and won't upgrade the computers anymore and that they won't make new computers in the future. :D

APFS needs to be added to a 10.12 update, there is no excuse to delay it to the next OS, iOS has it today!!! *rolls eyes*

I am also extremely disappointed that the Late 2011 17" MacBook Pro will not likely run 10.13! There is no Apple laptop I want to replace it with -- nothing else good out there, and still only 16 GB RAM! :(

When will the huge announcement be for all the new dongles required to use the new Macs in today's world with pre-existing equipment?

How adorable! No worries on that. The sad whine-a-day few still living in grandma's basement and demanding to be stuck in the tech past of 20 year old USB A connections are a teeny-tiny sliver of Apple's base.

The rest of Apple's market who realize technology marches ahead (and being able to easily deal with it) out on their own working in the real world have moved on, appreciating four ports of modern and versatile 40 Gb/sec Thunderbolt 3 I/O that can also be used as USB C 3.1 supporting transfer rates of 10 Gb/sec.

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with how iOS looks or works. Default apps would be nice but I hope Apple plans to overhaul its first party offerings. I use overcast for podcasts and just started using waze for maps (yes I know it's a google company and it has ads but it works) because in comparison to third party offerings in my opinion podcasts and maps just aren't good enough. If email was more of a major non work related issue for me I would probably replace the mail app but to me its "just good enough". I'm sure we'll get something along the lines of "we've added those message effects to the mail app! Now when you send that work related document and your colleague opens it up on their mail app they'll get fireworks!" .

Apparently Turkey and the US has something in common:

Are you done insulting people just because you disagree with their opinion?
But I'm glad to hear you "moved on" so easily, hope you got some time to work on your ignorance now.

Now THAT would be courageous and honest from Apple, instead of endless teasing about a legendary "pipeline" that never materializes. At least then we could make up our minds and jump to a new platform.

To be fair, spamming every single thread with "waah, waah, Apple has removed ports and that's not the product I personally wanted" is getting stale. They've done it. Maybe it was the wrong move. Maybe they'll revert it in part. Maybe they won't. Move on.

There is nothing legacy about the USB-A connector, there are billions of USB-A devices out there right now and sold hundreds of millon of devices each month with USB-A. Seen that iPhone 7 and iPad with USB-C cable?Ooooh yeah thats right, they have USB-A cables. That argument is so thin it is ridiculous stupid.

Jeez, just let the guy be disappointed! Can't anyone be allowed to not be a Tim/Watch Band fan?LOL

But seriously....he's right. WWDC has been nothing but disappointment for years. The WWDC keynote was always about big hardware and software releases. Now it's a platform for emoji launches. Anyone who is not disappointed by WWDC must not have been around in the late 90s wearily 2000's......as you would see and feel how truly disappointing it really is.

I understand the WWDC is not the same As it was once 15 years ago. However, if somebody is already setting a preconceived notion of disappointment before an event even starts, that's a poor attitude. Even if it doesn't meet someones expectations for WWDC, that individual made the conscious decision to be sulky about it before it started, which they created their own state of disdain.

It doesn't make the situation any better having a bad attitude. Why not be open-minded and then make a judgment call after the event has concluded. That seems a lot more logical and reasonable.

Also, on a sidenote, WWDC is an about hardware as much as it used to be, as it is about the developers. The developers come first.

And the crowd goes wild ... I'd be interested if the announcement was "We are pulling out of the Mac business" When reality shows they stick all the money in phones/tablets.

That will be something u WON'T see a clap for. Probably a tumble weed going by.

To be fair, Apple seems to be partial to criticism after all. Remember their announcement not long ago that stemmed from "constant user negativity"? Well, it's certainly not the "I lurv Apple and see no flaws" attitude that tells them they may have screwed up.

To be fair #2, you know what helped me pull my data off my malfunctioning iMac 2011 (merely 1h ago)? Target disc mode via TB2 and a TB2-ready hard drive plugged to my 2015 MacBook Pro. Job done, not a single dongle in sight. The 2016 variant would have just sat there looking pretty. Worse than buying overpriced parity hardware is having to buy overpriced adapters and dongles that substitute things that shouldn't have been missing in the first place.

The above is simply a personal example of how Apple's recent decisions are fundamentally mercantilistic, arrogant and user-hostile. And yea, both criticism and praise should be given when due. I simply don't find anything praiseworthy about Cook's Apple of the past couple of years.

"Apple is supposedly going to use a name that starts with an "M," and some possibilities include Monterey, Mojave, Mammoth, and Miramar, all landmark names Apple has previously trademarked."

What! macOS Modesto didn't make the cut?!

The fact that I don't give a crap about the WWDC 17 is making me sad and upset. I miss how it used to make me feel, the anticipation, and excitement, knowing that it was approaching...

You care enough to come post here. Trolls don't even cover their tracks anymore!

Apple is no longer exciting.. I am guessing because we have hit a climax. It kind of like refrigerators by now, there is barely anything new or exciting coming out. Back with Steve fans there was just a lot you can improve on, we had like a hardware redesign every 2 years.

Apple no longer cares about macOS or Macs, so any improvement is marginal. Faster iPads means its faster, but you won't feel anything and it will feel just as fast as the model from 2 or 3 years ago. The only big improvement I can see is in the iOS department, and no way Tim Cook is going to change anything about his gold laying goose. We want REVAMPED iOS!

Absolutely, but posts like "hahaha how many dongles will there be this time?" 1) aren't constructive criticism and 2) have little to do with the topic, which is WWDC announcement expectations. (Surely we can agree that they're not going to spend much time in the keynote talking about dongles?)

And yea, both criticism and praise should be given when due. I simply don't find anything praiseworthy about Cook's Apple of the past couple of years.

Fair enough.

There were those new products registered in Eurasia that included some iMac product numbers. But don't get too excited. I'm sure macrumors was right and those desktop product ids represent new laptops, which I guess means apple will be discontinuing it's current desktops already using those ids (multiple generations of a product commonly use the same I'd) so the they are free for laptops. Desktop macs were good while they lasted, I guess.

Apparently you don't understand how technology transitions work.

Are you going to be sad and whine when the next iPhone ships with a Lightening to USB C cable? To go with the new iMacs having USB C ports (and with MacBook and MacBook Pro computers already with USB C ports).

How are you going to feel when the new iMacs (and MacPro someday) come only with USB C ports? You know, to match existing MacBook and MacBook Pro laptops with the same ports. And the next iPhone coming with a USB C cable.

Yes it's easy to move on. For many, it's a lot easier than digging in demanding to stay stuck in the past and whining about "dongles."

Not gonna buy anything this time.

It's overpriced and all made in China and H1B's in California.

Non recyclable and non upgradable. The whole line.

There's so much pollution in China, H1B's are essentially slave labor.

The best thing that Timmy can do is resign, right at the keynote. And give up his huge houses, cars and jets.
