Yeah, sorry, that’s not how this works. Have you ever actually used Find My Friends? Here’s a tip: You don’t have the ability to locate and track them whenever you want (like you can with Find My iPhone and devices you own). People have to agree to share their location. It’s the type of thing you might use when meeting a group of friends at a park or other venue.

This will be the same. You’ll have to agree to use your device for this purpose. It won’t be something that’s active all the time in the background on every single iOS device. I’m not even sure how you could make such a ridiculous assumption based on how iOS currently works.
You might read the article about upcoming changes, and who said anything about find my friends? This will be the first time in IOS that any device can be remotely activated, unknown to user, to locate another, must not be a problem for you and just ridiculous. Have a good day ;)

Do you genuinely miss the iOS 6 and earlier interface? Every time I’m reminded of screenshots they look jarringly dated to my eyes. I don’t even feel nostalgic looking at them.

Each to their own I suppose.

The skeomorphism had to die but they threw out a lot of good with the bad. iOS hasn't scrolled as smoothly since, apart from ProMotion. There's no depth and weight anymore.

Are you not familiar with Tile?
Exactly the app I was thinking about. Puts that functionality on every IOS device running the update. Accessible by warrant, National Security Letter (unlikey for most) or hack like Facebook and others have done (very likely).

I don't even bother watching this stupidity anymore. It's a celebration of useless nonsense things so Apple can nickel and dime you on subscriptions.

More interested in real horsepower hardware and software, not gimmicks like a talking unicorn (or a talking sh*t emoji). Sheesh.

Looks like this will be a good year for the iPad. Maybe I will get a reason to upgrade my Air 2. :)
Agree, my iPad Air 2 continues running very strong, it remains snappy. It is used for consumption, for business, and photography; not interested in games. Sadly, the battery does not last very long, steady usage a few hours.

If iOS 13 will run on this Air2 without bogging it down too much, I will have Apple replace the battery, then continue using it. If iOS 13 will not run on Air2, a new iPad Pro is my next device.

The HUD volume display change being mentioned or listed so prominently is perhaps a little concerning. I mean, yeah, it's annoying...but come on, this is a minor UI tweak. Admittedly long overdue, but still pretty minor.

I mean nothing going on. Lock it and set it on the night stand. Morning time...dead. Battery usage graph looks like the face of a cliff.
Have you tried wiping your phone and starting from scratch.., with extreme prejudice regarding which apps you add back onto your device? If it worked possibly even adding the sketchy ones slowly and watching for a return of the sleep walking iPhone?

Has it already been said, I hope we get a notice on the phone when the watch is charged. How hard can it be to send me a message to say its ready to wear again. The phone is aware of the battery level.

Apple is doing a great job of destroying what was a great company. Their apps are no longer user friendly and if they do away with iTunes one can expect a MAJOR defection to other apps. They already F'd up iTunes one time already.
What bunch of bone heads.
Sad.

Mouse support in iPads would be great since I’ve ended up making it my daily use machine (office suite, writing, etc) but that makes too much sense and probably won’t happen.

I’m more excited than I should be at the prospect of getting the volume indicator out of the way. Definitely shouldn’t be a highlight of a major release though.

Two missing iOS features are WAY overdue and if they don’t fix them on Monday I’m gonna scream into a pillow:
1. The ability to cut and paste events in Calendar
2. The ability to create and manage groups in Contacts

The lack of these features is appalling. They are simple fixes that would take an intern a long weekend to implement. And would make iOS much more efficient and productive for serious users who spend time away from their computers.

Nowhere in the article does it say this. You’re literally just making stuff up at this point.

More than anything, I would love to see AAPL announce plans for a 2nd iOS App Store, one targeted to Adults.

The existing iOS App Store is mostly just a Playground for Little Kids.

And AAPL knows that.

Case in point, look @ today's App Recommendation for iPhones, it's a Cartoon app !

Seriously Cook & Schiller ???, the weekend just before your BIG WWDC kicks off you're promoting a Cartoon app as App of the Day ???

The main problem with AAPL is that Cook & Schiller make too many of the important decisions, this probably being one of them !

I rest my case.

That's because modern Apple makes products by little kids, for little kids, because it's ran by little kids.

This was suspected after iOS 7 launched, and cemented once Animojis were announced.

Probably because you recently moved over to Windows, amiright?

I did but I still use Macs and Mac devices. My wife and business partner is also still on a Mac. She's holding out for another year to see how things are going in AppleLand.

Dumb question as I've moved to IMAP emails and usually don't have to mass delete emails off of my iPad anymore. Has it gotten any easier to mass delete emails off of an iPad?

Personally I expect to be struggling to stay awake (but that's just me)

Why would anyone need (or want) to know what might be presented at a presentation that's going to happen in a few days that's going to be spewed out by countless tech news sites across the internet immediately afterwards?

How is knowing what might be presented helpful or constructive in any way?

These WWDC keynotes are basically entertainment for the techy nerd. Revealing all the likely surprises (if there are any) beforehand is no different than giving away the full plot & storyline of a new movie before it's been released.
Buzzkill.
Chill, man. All in the game.

I’m cool with the Xeon. Good solid base. But for heavens sake, there are so many GPUs now and future we are missing out on. I’d like to see a Mac Pro with onboard graphics for fallback reliability, but the ability to add on multiple current and then future GPUs.
I’ve had three Mac Pros and a pc with a Xeon. Never felt any better than i7, except that they were 4x more expensive.

I guess the corporate/enterprise world is run by kids, since, you know, iOS completely dominates this market.

And if the iOS App Store is for kids, then who is the Fisher Price App Store (aka Google Play) for?
