Same.

I was planning to go back to Macs if Apple had released new iMacs today.

The new MacBook Pro is fine with that GT 650M and Retina display, but it's just not enough for my needs.

I don't need a mobile PC. I want a desktop, a damn desktop to sit in my room with enough power to run everything I want.

And no, that GT 650M is not enough. It maybe enough for people that like to play with 30FPS, but not for me.

for the record, the 650M will run BF3 on high at 60fps according to the review i read earlier today.

The store briefly came back up for me. MacPro had a new next to it. iMac did not. When I went to click on the MacPro it brought me back to the back soon screen.

I've been stalking this forum since Janurary waiting for the refresh.

I need a desktop for intensive architectural renderings and really wanted an iMac for the next 3-5 years, but I've had a list of parts to build my own PC ready to go. I guess I'm pulling the trigger and building my own. I'm not too disappointed because it will be cheaper and 2-3 times faster, but I still would have liked to see the new offering to go with my (now apparently outdated) 17" Macbook and 3GS.

What makes me think the iMac will be updated fairly soon;

USB3

just that alone, WHY in apples right mind would they include it in the macbook but not iMac? No sense.

They are teasing us.. or.. let's hope so..

Alas it's game over for today, probably June.

Although the Store is still down, in product descriptions already have the latest MacBook Air specs but no change to mac book or iMac specs

This is not the first right. To have this much speculation/discussion and nothing delivered.

Now I'm thinking if I should just use the money for MacBook Pro.

hmm, since they update the mac pro with the same gfx card, I assume apple thinks todays specs are good enough to stay on forever .

I don´t know what to do now. I just simply cant get myself to buy the top line imac 27" with todays prices, they could atleast lowered the prices of the iMac and called in "new"

Completely torn now...

Don't know whether to keep waiting for the iMac, or pull the trigger on new Macbook Pro and Thunderbolt display.

Any advice people?

Hah. I got invited to participate in a survey regarding Apple's website just now. Needless to say the reaction I selected was "extremely disappointed."

In relation to what product was I visiting the website today it asks? Why thank you, Mac desktops.

What kills me is its not even a hard upgrade. New processors, new GPUs, new USB. There's no reason to delay it. Especially not if its because retina iMacs are coming later this summer (I'm now 100% convinced this is why there was no update).

**** you Apple

Laughably bad... I can only assume the iMac will have a quiet update within the next few days though...

Also, the specs for the Mac Pro still only show USB 2.0. I guess they are using sandy bridge E or something, but this has always annoyed me about Apple – the toys get a lot of things looooong before the pro macs. This is why the iMac was always the sweet spot. Maybe not anymore though. :(

Well fluffer nutter, that sure does churn my butter. I feel like an idiot now that I've been waiting since February for a new iMac.

Oh well, at least I am in good company with my first world problems I see.

I can't see into the future but I wouldn't do that if I were you, (which I kind of am). You'd end up spending about £1000 more for a less powerful machine with less memory, may well be portable but so is a 2009 macbook.
