The Apple Store is down..... you're welcome for ruining your sleep schedule.

EDIT: Damn, someone beat me. But still........

I have a feeling (but i'm an :apple:-newby) that all this work on the apple store is pre-work for the big refresh of a few mac-products next monday. You can't tell me the online store is down for hours just for a few updates that I can do in 10 minutes.

What tells you that the updates they are doing would only take you 10 minutes? Do you have insider knowledge of what they are updating?

Well... last time Apple took the store down for 6 hours, guess what? Just to add the Nest Thermostat... I'm pretty sure the duration is more or less irrelevant to the type of update/refresh

Editing the site with the updates is easy, sure, but testing them? Making sure they're stable enough to take a hit? No one really knows. They're probably just doing small bits each week (it was also down last week, and the week before, etc.) in order to make the initial release on Monday seamless.

Apple's store goes down every week. Last week the only noticeable change was the Nest Thermostat, that's true. Apple also does maintenance and testing which was probably done in that 6h window. If I recall any comments regarding products have to be approved by Apple. That also takes time.

I believe they also added some sort of loan/payment option for students, which led to other sub-pages.

This is what I meant. Like I said, I'm an apple newby so definitely have no inside info.

if its only internal refresh (yah.. that will disappoint some i know).

what are the chances that during WWDC, Tim Cook will say.. "the refreshed hardwares are available in apple store as we speak"~? :D

And while we wait, look what Intel has :
Intel's All-in-One concept PC has plug-in upgrade module, 21:9 screen http://t.co/8MToGcOT
and Hp updates
HP updates Envy 15, Envy 17, and Envy 17 3D laptops with Ivy Bridge processors http://t.co/FX1qdZoZ
i know they're laptops but are sporting Amd 7850 ...in what differs from 7970?

Some of you may have noticed on the front page that 13" MBP specs have been (allegedly) leaked. No Retina. Superdrive still present. I think that pretty much settles the issue as far as those two features are concerned with the iMac.

The leak is a fake.No bluetooth 4.0 but 2.0,superdrive still there,Mac Osx instead of OSX,1280x800 and no Ips display...the only thing right there usb 3.0 and Ivy Bridge (because Ivy runs on mobo supporting Usb3) even if i'm not sure if CPU specs are correct.
A rumor says that 4 lines will be updated.
I think that Air and MacBookPro will be unified (Air 11,13 ivy dual core,Hd4000,Air pro 13 ivy dual + discrete Gpu,Air Pro 15,17 quad with discrete GPU..)(even of i don't like how Macbook Air pro sounds),then new mac mini, new Imacs and holy glory new Mac Pro.
I really hope to see this happen.

unfortunately, i second that.

ivy bridge with 28nm gpu is plenty, and its all i been waiting for.

but wwdc announcement... that i dont understand...

So you think WWDC will disappoint many of us and that the leak is true?
Just smaller specs bumps?
And all the squares in the WWDC image..what are they standing for?
Are a lot..and in the past they put in the images a meaning...,(the two red bridges, the colors splashed to announce retina for Ipad)don't they resembles some minis ?

I dont care if its only hardware upgrades too, I just want an up to date machine with up to date prices for stuff like the ssd. We'll see, I guess some of the updates will be more special than others. But, maybe a massive update is something they will market this time. we'll see :) just give me a new imac.

i think if imacs are to be introduced on stage, we can expect much more than a spec bump

two things come to mind:

redesign

retina

one doesnt make sense without the other. thats whats bothering me. i just dont want to get my hopes up, but if its indeed introduced at wwdc, it ought to be mind-blowing. according to rumors, imacs will be introduced at wwdc.

We'll see,the fact is that without any major changes you don't understand why so much silence on leaks and why not to make a silent release..something must be behind this decision...well i hope so,If Cook walks on stage and then give out a small update which doesn't need any keynote..well it will be boring.
Then i hope not to see no Imac release at all but "just" macbook pro's..and software's preview..till th keynote's end without any new Imac waiting for some rumors after...
if it will happen i'll pull the trigger and i will start watching for some Other all in one to be hackintoshed!...:D....just joking!

Yea, unfortunately it looks legit to me, but it's expected and a decent upgrade. After all, the MacBook Pro was updated last october. However, if we don't see retina display on this 13 inch MB Pro we can be sure it won't be on the iMac.
