I recently traded a Lenovo Slim Pro 7 14ARP8 for a 14" M1 Max MBP (64GB RAM/2TB SSD, 18 cycles). I already daily a M4 Air (16GB/512GB) and a M4 Mac mini (24GB/512). I work in AV and run some lightweight lighting software and Vectorworks, so the Max’s specs are a nice bump, especially the storage for music and photos but the battery life isn't the best (but it is a recent set up so likely still indexing and such). After coming from a 2019 i9 MBP I love the Air’s portability and battery life but can't help but be drawn to all the premium features of this MacBook Pro. I don't think I have a use for 3 Macs so consolidating down to 2 is kind of where my head is at right now. Marketplace is a pain and I'm seeing Macs sitting on there for weeks right now and Apple is offering $755 for the Air (and only $550 for the MBP), which would pay for 2 years of my Apple One Premier sub. Should I consolidate to the M1 Max as my only mobile machine, or is the Air's weight and battery worth keeping?
