What was your first Apple iDevice?

80GB iPod Classic. I believe it was a 5th gen.

I was late to the smartphone train. I bought the iPod when I bought my first MacBook Pro in 2006, and they were the only Apple products I had until I bought a 4th gen Touch. It's all downhill from there...

Your first iDevice is always special - and this beauty started my 2nd love affair with Apple.

I first caught sight of her in a far-away Apple store. Our eyes met (my eye, her "i") and I knew she was the one. You see, I'd flirted with other mp3 players (even two-timed some of them, rascal that I was back then) but this lady had class. None of the others had responded to my touch the way she did. Their faces never lit up the way her's did. It took my breath away. I had to have her.

Years rolled by and we have a whole family now: Classics, touches, nanos, shuffles (identical twins). A whole truckload! So many, in fact, I had to give some of the little-uns away. No matter - they went to good homes.

And as for the old gal, yeah, she's still around. Okay, so she's had a face job to ease the cruel marks that time leaves on a beautiful face. A battery transplant too - but she's still humming along nicely. :)

iPod 2nd generation (10GB) -> iPod 5th generation (30GB white)

iPhone 1st generation (4GB) -> iPhone 3GS (16GB white) -> iPhone 4 (16GB black) -> iPhone 4S (16GB white) -> iPhone 5 (32GB white) -> iPhone 5s (32GB gold)

iPad 2 (32GB white WiFi) -> iPad 3 (32GB white WiFi) -> iPad mini with retina display (32GB white LTE)

My first iDevice was an iPod, probably 3rd generation if memory serves me. My first iPhone was an iPhone 3G.

silver ipod mini, think it was 2nd generation - the one that didnt come with the dock.

amazing!

iPod Touch 2nd Gen,16 GB. Now the battery lasts 45 mins at most, has water damage, runs terribly slow (My 1st gen runs way faster than it) and has deep scratches on the screen. Served me well for several years.

iPod nano 16gb 4th gen in black. Paid full price but was my favorite thing in the world at the time. Then iPhone 4 8gb in 2011, then iPad 4 and iPhone 5 last fall.
