I personally like the larger screens and thinner bodies found on many of the androids. I have a Sony Experia Ray provided by my company as my work phone. It is nice, but different, and no where near as slick and smooth as my iPhone 4.

Sometimes it crunches to a halt, which is annoying when just trying to check email or make a phone call. There is no way I would switch to an Android OS phone for my personal phone due to the OSX-iOS integration. The widgets are really useful though.

Deal breaker for me would be not enough of an upgrade from the 4. The 4S is basically the same phone in my eyes, Siri was just a way for Apple to force people to upgrade (and maybe they didn't want millions of extra users overloading the Siri servers). I am interested to see what they are going to release, but if it isn't compelling, I am more than happy enough with my iPhone 4

Because when I have my headphones plugged in and need to drop the phone into a cupholder or something, I either have to place it upside down or bend the cable on the headphones (which will eventually ruin them).

who cares if it's upside down? If you're wearing your headphones you shouldn't be driving anyway, so it's not like you're needing to use it for directions or something. Also if you're using a program most likely it's going to auto-rotate.

I like it because when you're holding it you wouldn't have to wrap the cable back behind the phone to keep it out of the way, it would just dangle at the bottom. Gravity FTW.

My view is actual facts, though. The hardware is fact. The features that "don't really draw to you" is what an opinion is. And just because people can't afford doesn't have much of anything to do with the fact that it's a substantial upgrade. The only thing that has to do with is if people feel the upgrade is worth it to them.

In any event, I'm here for my love for Apple, not to argue.

Cheers. :apple:

You just stated that your opinion was a fact and mines wasn't. Kinda funny and ironic that it just happens to disagree with yours.

And since your not here argue but to be a fanboy (which is what you said), can't really try to defend my opinion.

Apparently talking about my opinion of the iPhone 4S is equal to saying Android is better or Apple sucks.

Ok dude, ok.

Not sure where your understanding is failing, but saying "32GB is enough" is a very clear and succinct statement that fails to hint toward an opinion in any way. In fact, the "Yeah, it wasn't" clause solidified your intent. You clearly mean that it wasn't necessary for Apple to build a 64GB model. This was not a statement of opinion. However, the facts bear out that it was desired by many and therefore necessary.

Once again, if you want to state an opinion, then do so. It doesnt bother me in any way that you only need/want 32GB, I dont think anybody should spend more for 64GB if they don't need it. But don't make sweeping statements of judgement like you're speaking for the rest of us. It's funny you brought up English comprehension.

Again it's just entertaining that you seem to be quite upset with my opinion of a device or a feature like GBs. I mean that's cool I guess...

I'm not sure how from a text your able to tell intent unless there was some sort of ! Or ? but it's pretty obvious that what I said was that 32GB was enough.

The guy who I responded to said something along the lines of "so the 32GB to 64Gb wasn't big?". In which I replied something like "no it wasn't. 32GB was enough."

Don't seem to be getting this into your head.

Size

4" may be too big. Have to see. I like the current size just fine. It fits nicely into pockets and is easy to hold when using the phone. I see those Motorola droids and they are way to big for me.

I might have to kep my 4S and just upgrade to iOS 6.

What part of "It doesnt bother me in any way that you only need/want 32GB" did you misunderstand? I'm not upset in any way and I'm not arguing your choice of storage in any way.

Yep, that's what I said you said. Not sure why you're arguing.

I got it in my head just fine. You clearly stated "no it wasn't. 32GB was enough." You didn't say "32GB was enough for me." Your statement is therefore....false.

Oh, and "mine" is possessive. It doesn't need an extra 's' on the end.

It seems you guys got way off topic. They kind of "straw manned" your original post.

Pretty sure his (irDigital) original intent was just the opinion that the 4 -> 4S change was pretty minimal. Small spec bump, a camera and Siri. What everyone else did was hone in on one small aspect of that opinion (the storage capacity), and harp on it. That really wasn't the point of his first post. The capacity upgrade might be great for some, but (OPINION) if all we got was a storage bump in the new phone, I'd be really disappointed and I'm fairly certain the forum would erupt in outrage.

The same camera as the 4S and the same RAM would be instant deal breakers.

The camera must be as good or better than Nokia N8's for me to even consider the next iPhone.

My biggest concern this go around is battery life. We more or less know we are getting LTE, so I am concerned that the battery might suffer. The battery on my 4S is deplorable already. I already have to carry a charger with me or use a mophie juice pack, and I would like that to be a thing of the past. Certainly a juice pack is great for vacations or extended outings, but I don't want to have to use one on a regular basis.

If they get that battery life way up there I'm sold, otherwise I am going to explore other options.

He made a single post stating that the storage upgrade was unecessary. Simple as that.

Edit: He also said "(the iPhone 4 which is also the iPhone 4S)" which again is a false statement. Nowhere did he say "that the 4 -> 4S change was pretty minimal" nor did he say "the storage bump was unecessary for my needs". He made blanket statements that implied that there was no change at all from the 4 to the 4S and that the storage upgrade was unecessary. This was not stated as an opinion in the way it was phrased. If his intent was to state an opinion, then he should have chosen his words accordingly.

Paraphrasing

Not really. Used both of them.

iPhone 4S really is just an iPhone 4 with Siri.

Now that I look back at it, you're post is rather overstated. I see why you're so defensive about the storage boost.

I'm definitely neither and there are major differences in each.

That's a bold statement when you consider the overwhelming similarities between the two devices.

Comparing two different technical specifications yields factual information. It is a fact that the iPhone 4S has a better camera, better processor, upgraded Bluetooth, is a 'world phone', and has Siri.

agreed. The only similar thing between the 4 and 4S is the physical appearance. ...everything else was a MAJOR upgrade in just a years time.

I'm one of those that have been wanting a larger screen now. If the new iPhone's screen is larger by simply elongating the phone then that would be a deal breaker for me. I would assume it would have LTE since the new iPad has it but, who knows, I could be wrong. If the new iPhone didn't have LTE then that also would be a deal breaker for me. Still waiting to hear Tim say, "aha, we fooled you, here's what the new iPhone REALLY looks like." But, if that's not the case, a Samsung Note 2 or SIII will probably be in my future.
