If same camera specs, no go for me. Any love for low light sensitivity?! Hopefully a better camera.

My iphone 4 camera still works well in broad daylight, but have to use ClearCam at night to get anything usable.

Not much else... actually iphone 4 is quite usable besides camera issues. Was thinking perhaps I could just keep using it via ST until it breaks.

At this point hard to see what kind of apps could fully use iphone 5's specs.

I mean how many apps do you see are iphone 4s exclusive? Very little, almost nilche.

I'm in the same boat as you, just got my 4 unlocked in prep for ST. But then I did the math. If I sell my 4 now I can get $255 for it, a new 32GB 6th gen iPhone will run me $800 and if I sell it in 1 year I'd get roughly $450 back. Basically if I indulge I end up -$95 in the hole this time next year. Whereas if I stick with my current iPhone for the year it's resale value will drop $100 and when I sell it at the end of the year I'll end up with $155.

So in reality I am paying $250 to have the new hotness, but it's worth noting you also get that 1 year of apple care if you go the new iPhone route. Whereas if my 4 should suddenly die on me in the next year I'm **** out of luck.

So it's really not a huge waste of money since these things hold their value so well, unless of course you end up loosing your phone or blacking out and throwing it in a pond. In which case your out $550 versus $0 had you stuck with the 4.

Deal breaker: the Instagram app takes 5 seconds to load the camera/camera roll.

They need to speed this up.

OR....a better solution would be that any time the Instagram App is opened, the iPhone BURSTS into flames permanently scarring the culprit using it leaving them identifiable for life as "one of THEM!".

I don't like Instagram filters very much. :p

You're walking a fine line between comical message board comment and pyromania.

It's thin (9 mm) but also quite tall (130.7 mm) and wide (68.7 mm). iPhone 4S by comparison is 115.2 x 58.6 x 9.3. So volume of Droid = 81.0 cc, 4s = 62.7 cc; volume of Droid is 29.2% greater. The new iPhone looks like it will be even smaller (lower volume) than the 4S so Apple probably won't be able to cram in the huge battery that Motorola did. We have to hope that power saving from new chips will be enough (or that Apple has some revolutionary new battery technology, which is unlikely).

Yeah I realize how geometry works, I was just contradicting a statement that whatever idiot I responded to made about phones having to be the size of a brick to have good battery life...

The same camera as the 4S and the same RAM would be instant deal breakers.
+1
Well, who am I kidding, I'll get the phone either way as we are invested in the Apple eco system and our phones are out of contract. Thinner is nice, but if it comes (at all) at the expense of a better camera I will be sorely disappointed. Our phones have become our day to day point and shoots. Marginally better or status quo camera performance will at least cause me pause before I hit the "Order Now" button.

The current camera is great. The current camera with f/2.2 optics would be nice.

How about an f/2.0 optics and a 12 megapixel camera? It isn't hard to upgrade the camera to a 12 megapixel one and increase the aperture. I know megapixels aren't everything but you had to admit having more megapixels seems cool on the outside without going into technical details. Of course, I would still love an 8 megapixel camera with further improved optics.

I don't let them either. I don't see the point in watering down your sharp and clear 8 megapixel photo with vintage filters or splashes of paint. Argh. Nobody is going to give a damn if you're going to make your self-portrait as if it was from the old days - its obviously not.

No deal breaker for me.

It simply has to COME OUT and I'll have one.

My 3GS is on it's last leg and this new phone will be a huge upgrade in my eyes.

^^It will be a HUGE upgrade FOR your eyes!^^

After going retina (or any high DPI display) you won't go back. :D

None of those are dealbreakers for me. Only for sure dealbreaker is if iOS 6/corresponding iTunes breaks the awesome podcast support iTunes has had since 2005.

That "podcasts" program is terrible and redundant, and if we're forced to use it or my ability to manage my podcasts on my PC and have them sync across my devices and manually delete/download stuff is hampered...well, that is THE reason I stick with iOS. If they break it, I have no reason not to go with Android or Windows Phone 8.

Available storage space=price.

I have 16Gb of music/apps/photos etc on my iPod Touch, and all of that would be going on my iPhone. I can't afford the 32GB iPhone at 299.99.

I'm forced to get a Galaxy S 3 (which looks amazing now that I'm doing research) because I can get the 16GB version for 199.99 but upgrade it to 80Gb for 60 more bucks with an SD card.

I really want the iPhone but it's not feasible for me to be able to buy one that can store everything.

DROP THE PRICES.

I have Sprint. As an avid Apple "fan girl" I was dying for an iPhone when we finally got the 4s. Made the switch from my Evo 4g.

I love my iPhone but HATE that it cannot multitask on Sprint. On my Evo I could talk on the phone, use the GPS, and send a text message all at once. Can't combine call time with any other data feature on the Sprint iPhone.

If they don't update their contract/functionality with Sprint for this release I probably will not make the jump. If they do, I'm in 100%.

Also, I do fully believe my iPhone is slower than my Evo was. Speed checks have proven that to be true. Hopefully, they DO upgrade to LTE this time.

I'd be disappointed if they kept the screen 3.5". I'd prefer even an elongated screen to no change in size at all.

Still, I need a new phone so I'm buying it no matter what features it has or what it looks like.

This is going to be my first iPhone :D can't wait! I already had an iPod Touch 2g and I surely could play with other iPhones but display was really small compared to the Galaxy S3 I sold. But you know what? Galaxy S3 may be a great terminal, i like iOS more because of the app store and other services like iTunes Match which I could use on the iPhone. Can't wait!

The screen size is the deal breaker for me.

As much as I have loved my iPhone (which is now in dire need of replacement) I won't be buying another one if it only has the suggested minimal increase in screen size, after using my wife's Galaxy S3 while my 3gs was being repaired I've found it very difficult to go back to such a small screen.

No deal breakers for me, heck I have already pre-ordered it. What I've seen n the leaks sounds great though the big surprise is totally gone now.

Especially like:
- thinner metal design
- A6 (4S could be faster)
- 16:9 screen

4G is pretty much useless here as coverage keeps letting us down while prices go up. :(

I hope Apple comes out with some great camera tech. The Lumia 920 has very impressive low light. See below:

I originally said the 4 inch screen was not big enough and decided to go with the HTC One X but after using it for a couple weeks I decided to just stay with the iPhone. There are too many things I would have to do to make the switch so although I am slightly disappointed with the tall screen its still the best option out there for me. I did enjoy some aspects of Android and I could see owning one in the next year or two but right now I think the iPhone is a better fit. The screen is the most important factor for me so as long as the iPhone has as good of a screen as the 4/4s I will be ok. I would prefer a 4.3 to 4.5 inch screen with the same aspect ratio but I'm not going to buy an Android because I didn't get it. If the Galaxy S4 has a sharper screen that is much brighter then it will be hard not to get one next year. I just hope the iPhone next year is a bigger improvement and not just a 5S.

Since I already use a 4S, a deal breaker for me would be no LTE. Many of us in Canada enjoy our 6GB monthly data buckets and for myself, it's fairly difficult to use 2GB a month let alone 6GB. So I'm not worried about data overages, I simply want the speed.
