When I downloaded and installed Beta 5 on a PC today AdBlock was recommended by MineField as a useful addon by default, and did I want to install it, so I assume it works.

I use No Script which is amazing, so I did not not download AdBlock.

Does Adblock not work anymore?

Allot of you are saying that you are downloading Beta 5. Beta 5 isn't ready yet, it's a pre-release, Beta 4 is officially the current beta at the time of writing.

And plans for any RCs?

past experience is that they take last beta build, polish more, pass QA test and release RC and final on top of it. But firefox 3 has too many changes, Im not sure if that would be the practice again this time around.

Can anyone tell me if firefox 3 will support keychain?

Without that I don't consider firefox a browser for my daily use since I have all my keys store in keychain and don't want two places with keys (keychain and firefox personal key manager).

I think no, sorry, firefox is trying find a way to use keychain at the same time maintain its function of multiple passwords for same page and easy backup/transfer of passwords. Its either that they haven't find a way yet, and/or its not a high enough priority.

1password is great for anyone willing to pay BTW.

i heard about that. i guess mozilla consider this too important a function to be handled by uncertain 3rd party apps (and $$$).

also there are cross-platform requirement behind this as well.

good thing is. they did ported psw manager from C++ to js. so it should be easier to build on it. maybe some extensions can do this for those in need

I'm a little confused by the nomenclature here. Is Mozilla calling Beta 5 RC1 what most developers call RC1? Or is this a pre-beta of Beta 5?

They have Release Candidates for beta builds as well as final builds; this is the first RC for the Beta 5 build.

Beta 5 is now out, downloading now. :)

EDIT: Yah! the "about:robots" page is in this build! I like the more unified look of the tab bar. What are your thoughts?

in firefox you have two ways of switching tabs, ctrl+Tab, and ctrl+pageup/down.

Today's nightly added cmd+{/}

Of course, you can assign any key combo if you have keyconfigure installed for firefox.

I expect proto theme to keep changing until final release..:)

multitouch capability?

another quick question for clevin, our resident font of all knowledge.

do you know of any plans to include multitouch compatibility with firefox 3, or is there an extension that does? (I know there is multiclutch, but just wondered about "native compatibility")

thanks

mike

ps. thanks for the prompt response re my IE question - it seems that firefox 3 works with some of the sites i previously had trouble with.

Can FF3 drag images into photoshop on the Dock?
not on my Tiger MB and photoshop CS2

I don't know any extension of doing this, and I saw some bug reports of multi touch thing at bugzilla@mozilla. but i do not know if there is any plan for this or not. Personally, I think it depends on

1. when the multi touch will become a significant part of function that mac users use.
2. when the API will be available from apple to 3rd party developers.

I don't know the answer, but I think firefox 3 will NOT have this, it entered code freeze period for quite a while, new stuff will be landing until after version 3.0.

Oh no! Where has my "unplugged" gone? I download podcasts from non-iTunes websites all the time... mp3, Unplug, save to desktop, drag into iTunes, too easy.

So is there some new button in FF3 that lets me save media I've downloaded into a browser window? Say, audio or video?
