Screen recording is a great new feature. Will be very helpful for tech support, troubleshooting remotely, etc.

It works very well. Was this even possible with apps before?

As for messages in iCloud being removed, I wonder if it has something to do with recent threats by UK and Australia governments to force Apple to give them access??? They can’t if they don’t have them! :D

It seems like Apple is gradually making the interface more intuitive again. There's still a bit of work to do, but it appears that the team is trying to simplify and streamline, and for a small device that's a good thing.

I feel like in a lot of ways Apple doesn’t understand how to make Control Center work. I swipe up on my new iPad Pro 12.9, and it takes me a second or two every damn time to process the complete cluster of icons. Why is Screen Mirroring at the bottom of icons? That’s the easiest icon to reach, - the one at the bottom, i.e. closest to your fingers, and it’s bloody Screen Mirroring. And can you remove that icon? Oh no, of course not.

Le sigh.

Maybe you should get an Android tablet if you are so distraught.

I upgraded my wife's iPhone 6S to public beta 3 two weeks ago just for the cloud messages. She's got a 16GB phone and is short on storage so this feature was a godsend.

Do you think she can stay in that beta until it's back in a future version of ios? Or will apple stop syncing her messages?

The betas expire so she'll be forced to upgrade at some point.

Messages staying in sync across devices was my favorite part of WWDC. No surprise that it's delayed. To be honest, I thought this was a feature we'd see a year after the ability to push messages to other devices rolled out. I'm sure there's privacy and other issues to address, but it will suck if it's not in the first iOS 11 release.

Well, this one I do not like very much. Had 13% and now I am not allowed to use my flash/torch light.

I had no idea about the iMessages in the cloud option, but that is great. Shame it isn't coming sooner, but I guess I can;t be mad I am not getting something I just learned about lol. I currently have messages to delete after 30 days just to save up space. Othwerise they start eating away at my local storage.

Really wish I could select which BLUETOOTH device I want to connect to from here.

We agree, all 7 billion of us. Why doesn't Apple want us to choose Bluetooth & Wifi devices right from the Control Center?

It makes absolutely no sense and seems completely stupid, each and every day of my life that I repeat the pattern of entering the Settings screens. Someone help explain this madness!

Is it just me or do the icons and translucency seem a bit brighter? The folders definitely seems a lot more brighter.

I imagine we will be seeing more icon changes to show increased contrast, what with the new iPhone having an OLED screen. The black background on the settings icon will really pop with those ultra-deep blacks. Will really make it look quite nice

So what happens to my imessages if i upgrade to beta 5? I currently am using the imessages in icloud. Will anything bad happen?

It’s fine (not withstanding any bug you may experience) they just won’t continue to sync between devices when you delete one for example. Everything will still receive and retain your current messages as before.

It's on par with not being able to turn off the Bluetooth and wifi radios from there. I understand none of it.

My wife who is a teacher is already using it with the Apple Pencil to record and mark up student feedback. It's quite remarkable how quickly she's taken to it. It's lightyears ahead of her previous workflow on Windows.
