In 8.0 was the Genius icon in the Play Screen?

I'm not sure what to call the data window exactly, look above the "time remaining" on the right side of the song scrubber for the genius icon...
that is what I am talking about.

Yes that's new in 8.0.1.

They didn't fix my most annoying bug: go to list view for an album (where you can see all the tracks). Rename the album by selecting all the tracks and changing the Album field in the Info (Apple-I) pane. Instead of seeing the album's name change in the title bar, all your tracks disappear. You have to click back up one level to the Albums view (where you can see the covers), then click back down to see the tracks again.

It's obvious iTunes is treating the view as a Smart Folder whose tracks no longer match, so it removes them from the view, but it doesn't switch (as it should) to a replacement Smart Folder matching the new album name.

I wonder if this fixes Airport streaming issues. I've been holding off from upgrading to iTunes 8 out of fear of hitting this bug.

AirTunes streaming now works just like in iTunes 7. At least it does for me.

doesn't fix my Airtunes issue. To be honest, I can't be a 100% sure it isn't some general quicktime/OS X/airport-express issue. But it only came up with iTunes 8.

On the other hand, the issue where iTunes wouldn't become the frontmost window after you clicked the green button, when it was in miniplayer-mode, is fixed.

Now I'm having the 13014 error, when I try to sync my iPod Touch. Damn it Apple, test your damn updates before you release them!

Don

hopefully this fixes some stability issues - i've crashed iTunes 8 a few times playing back video podcasts on my G5. i also updated iTunes while leaving my 1st Gen iPhone plugged in, than synced the iPhone; no problems with me.

Just a note to all of you, Apple probably forgot to label this as a restart required update. Just restart your computer, and try to sync again. The error message 13014 happened to me as well. A restart fixed it. Same goes for iPhones (including 3G), my friends who have them, both EDGE and 3G also had this problem, a restart of the computer fixed it for them as well.

Does anyone know how to add the SD files to show under the same name as the HD files? I removed all my SD files to an external HD to remove the duplicate entries, but when I add them back to iTunes, they are still duplicates, and do not share the same line item as the HD version.

i dunno if there is anyone added this, but ERROR 4010 is finally gone with this new update!! i can finally try genius!! i am so excited about it right now.. :)

i had this problem too (error 15000)

with the upgrade itunes told me there was an issue with the firewall that would prevent airtunes from working. a quick net search revealed opening port 5353 on windows solved the problem so i tried it on the mac and it worked.

i thought it was going to fix a bug thats present on the iPhone, but it didnt. if you have 2 songs of the same name, like an original recording and a remix version, and you start a genius playlist from one of them, it'll start a genius playlist with the other song.
Ughhhhhhhhhh. I found this lovely bug today. I wanted to create a playlist for Lost! but Lost? kept creating a playlist. So annoying. :(

GUI: disable Music Store links?

Is there a GUI option for disabling iTunes Music Store links in iTunes?

Why no, I had no idea Apple had an online music store!

This is great, but I bet there is still nothing that they can do to fix my itunes/mac connection. Thanks Apple support!!! No itunes store for 3 months straight.

With 8.0 on my Vista box iTunes was acting fairly sluggish when it tried to start a download or update the genius sidebar. Seems much more responsive now with 8.0.1.

Wirelessly posted (Mobile Firefox 1.0.2) (iPhone 4G running Windows Mobile 7)

I try to wait a day or two before downloading any iTunes Update to see what it breaks.

I fixed my issue with the sync error 13014. Just do a restart, so the OS can update iTunes files and replug in the iPod/iPhone. Worked for me on 10.5.5

Confirmed.

iTunes still plays music. I didn't have any crashes before, and I have none now. I'm perfectly happy. ;)

What the heck?

Love the fact that I can now actually play music while creating a genius playlist without jumping the song I just chose. For some reason I get an error message when I tried to sync my iphone with my computer.

Don't know why I am getting it nor do I know what it's about. I was successfully able to back it up prior to this error but I don't want to do anything drastic over something stupid.

Sometimes I just wished things worked!!

. . . . . and if i would read previous posts i would see that I need to restart my computer . . . . lol
