I reply to this post every year but I’m late to the party this time.

Hardly matters though. Few people on the forums will even read this, much less Apple.

And it seems everyone else wants the same thing. Every year there’s more of the same post.

Stop arbitrarily rushing out new major updates every year. Slow down and refine everything that’s been rushed out for the past several years. Care more about quality than flashy features again.

Just be more like Apple used to be.

Nobody even wants new features this year. We’re still waiting on the new features from last year. This is getting completely out of hand. Even Microsoft realized too many major releases too soon was too much.

Password App, there needs to be a way to group accounts, with SSO I have 1 account that works several related domains, i.e nac.[companyname].com, home.[companyname].com, sso.[companyname.com]... they all have the same username/password so when it changes it doesnt change all of you to update a large set.

Also if you use an external password manager and it doesn't always assocate account correctly, it would be nice after you search and use the account it adds/updates the assocation.

I wish they could offer features like photo editing, as they do in Samsung phones. In Samsung, AI is quite smart, and it can help to enhance the photo experience perfectly.

Maybe there's already a way to do this (ditched my X for a 16 Pro only a couple of weeks ago and haven't had much time to play with it yet) but I'd like to choose exactly what is displayed on the always-on lock screen. For example, a to-do or shopping list or, when I'm at the gym, my workout for the day in question.

Enable notifications for certain apps ONLY during specific focus modes, rather than having to disable notifications in every other one.

  1. Third party browser engines.
  2. Full desktop Mac apps on iPad Pro even if they are full screen only and only usable with Magic Keyboard.
  3. Better Stage Manager controls, like Expose within a Stage, and keyboard app selection options within a Stage.
  4. Improved external monitor support for iPad Pro (wallpaper selections, etc...).
  5. Improved Audio support for multi-tasking on iPadOS.

Other AppleAI options for Chatbot integration.
I‘d like to use Grok or other Chatbot instead of ChatGPT.

ChatGPT is bad in some ways for me, eg. never giving a solution and telling me it‘s ready soon. But soon never comes.

Mine is a bit radical but:

1) Cancel any plans for a complete user interface overhaul.
2) Turn it into essentially something akin to MacOS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, where the emphasis is on stability, improved battery life per charge, and improved Wi-Fi, cellular, and Bluetooth connectivity.
3) Create a separate app for wireless headphones. This will allow much improved usability with non-Apple/Beats headphones.
4) Allow full third-party access to the NFC functionality.
5) Change the App Store so you can have up to three different third-party app stores in addition to Apple's own store.
6) Get the full Apple Intelligence to work properly.

Mail app redesign that makes sense. I've tried the new "categories" and grouping, and it is terrible. I missed so many important emails, because I had some unread marketing email from the same sender from two years ago. With those turned off, Mail is basically the same as it has been for the past 10 years.

Apple One subscription is a joke in european countries. Apple News not available, Fitness+ zero content in regional language, Apple Arcade C64 games a joke on these powerful devices.
AppleTV productions for US customers mostly.
It‘s bad for me as European citizen.

An end to the EVERYTHING MUST STOP BECAUSE YOUR BATTERY IS AT 20%!!!!1!!!1!11 nonsense.

A mail badge (unread count) that correlates with reality.

Bring Messages settings up from the depths of its current spot, in a list of ALL other apps.

My first and only wish for a new ios, concerns the App "Apple Maps".
- I would like to wish, that I can save own created routes.

Why?
When I make vacation in the Unitded States, I rent a car and I will drive own created routes, with the best sights along the way. Not the shortest; not the fasted - only my own route.
This was perfeced for me

Refinement. No new features, no new bugs. No new UI

Apple software used to be refined. I’ve been getting files off an old MacBook with Snow Leopard and it’s not a myth: Snow l
Leopard feels polished in a way MacOS and iOS haven’t felt in a long time

There’s something nice about a system where the features actually work reliably. The system gets out of my way and lets me do my work

Ahead of when new versions of iOS come out, MacRumors forum members and readers often create wishlists for features they're hoping to see, and this year is no exception. Over on our forums, there are a couple wishlists of features that users have been contributing to since last June.

What's Rumored for iOS 19

iOS 19 is rumored to be getting a major design update with visuals inspired by visionOS. It could have a floating, glossy look with a focus on transparency, along with simplified navigation and a reimagining of icons, buttons, and menu bars.

More Apple Intelligence features are in the works, including the updates to Siri that we were supposed to get in iOS 18. We have a list of all the iOS 19 rumors so far in our iOS 19 roundup.

A log in on all iPad models for different users and the ability to make a kids a account on all iPad

A place a know what apps you are not using a a folder or something like that

Some say that about iOS
That is why people are pushing for an updated design instead of the usual small changes every year
Most are pushing for iOS evolution within iOS realm not Android esque iOS. That’s gross to even think of. Already hate the Androidfication of iOS. At this point just get an android
