it's like being without air.

Worse, much worse.

I've done all sorts of terrible things to create a cup of coffee in the morning (in some cases, it was only coffee in name ...)

try to make some Norwegian coffee. It is prepared using a ... raw egg. It separates the grounds quite beautifully. It’s perfect if you’re out of filters

No coffee at work!!! Help meeeeeee!

Serious, heartfelt commiserations.

This is beyond tragedy, into trauma.

This is a serious problem.

Quick! Someone get this man a COFFEE and stat!

Agree completely.

Not a fan of bagels here.....I find most of them too hard to chew and even the softer ones are a bit of a challenge. Actually, in general I'm not much of a bread person anyway, but once in a while will have an English muffin with peanut butter and jam on it as a change for breakfast.

Actually, I'm not a fan of bagels for exactly the reasons you describe; they are incredibly difficult to chew; muffins, or brioche, are far preferable to my mind.

Huh, nope haven't seen that. I'm just a person who knows the value of coffee and when someone is without it, it's like being without air.

Exactly, and very eloquently expressed.

I couldn't agree more.

Worse, much worse.

Hahaha, obv. not really, but I've used paper towels as filters, drank 3-4 day old coffee, it gets worse, but this is a family friendly forums :D

I think I'll need counseling or something.

It's kind a hassle to make, but it's one of those things that have to be tried at least once, for the sake of it. I prepared it twice. Far from being the best coffee on earth, but it can come out quite decently.

instant!

You should be banned... from the internet. This is outrageous.

:p

Topic revisited: Four year old visiting for two weeks. It gets really old fast being wagged by the tail. When a kid screaming dictates the actions of the responsible adults, I’m just too old for this. 😐

Contemplating the whole "chosen people" thing with just a flaming stealth banana split the sky like one would hope but never really expect to see in a place like this.

The chosen people are the folks who get to ride the motorcycle (vs the sidecar) on Hagrid's (at Universal).

Have I mentioned how stunning a ride it is? We ride it twice in the 4 days we hit up Universal for HHN. It's __really__ good.

Instant? "Instant Coffee"??!!!! AIEEEE!!!! Like my late father, I am a coffee lover. When he died, eventually my mother sold their house and apparently along with it she decided she didn't need or want a coffeemaker any more. So a month or so after she was settled into her new apartment, I visited.....and the first morning I was startled when there was no coffeemaker at hand, no ground coffee, even..... She handed me a jar of some sort of powdered or ground-up swill and said, ""I've already put the hot water on to boil for your coffee,". Eh.... what??!!! I realized that this was now her morning beverage. AIIIIIEEEEE!!!!

The next time I went to visit her I took along my coffeemaker and package of ground coffee so that at least I'd have something decent to drink first thing in the morning! What I found really appalling was that my mother truly did not realize the important difference between it and the crap in the jar of "Instant" she had on hand and drank every morning.... I loved my mother dearly (RIP) but boy, she sure took a wrong turn from values that my father and I both held when it comes to a morning beverage!

What utter horse-****. Instant coffee is but the finest substance that can pass one's lips short of edible twenty-four karat gold pounded into sheets.

Also thinking of a neat forum game which we can all engage in. At least to tide us over into the new year.
