Here the weather is just wet and windy. Nothing else on the horizon.

As for thermostats I’ve no idea how our new ones work. We have one in each room. Once we have moved back in I’ll have a look at the manual. View attachment 894514
LOL I thought it said 95 at first and was like welcome to He77?

Are you saying that these thermostats won’t let you change their settings?
Yea wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't ridiculously cold or hot. What's the point of eco if you are roasting or freezing?

So it is possible for anyone to make new friends?

Earth might have a tiny new moon. On 19 February, astronomers at the Catalina Sky Survey in Arizona spotted a dim object moving quickly across the sky. Over the next few days, researchers at six more observatories around the world watched the object, designated 2020 CD3, and calculated its orbit, confirming that it has been gravitationally bound to Earth for about three years.

An announcement posted by the Minor Planet Center, which monitors small bodies in space, states that “no link to a known artificial object has been found”, implying that it is most likely an asteroid caught by Earth’s gravity as it passed by.

What is on my mind is the Apostrophe, a ghostwriter friend of mine who writes for two well-known novelists is visiting this week to gather background on personal observations of Africa. I brought up the subject of the 'correct' use of apostrophes. She just laughed and told me I could have consulted the Apostrophe Protection Society, but it has disbanded because it had failed in its mission. At first, I thought she was shining me on, she referred me to the web page listed below. It did appeal to my warped sense of humor.

I'm a fan of the apostrophe, and of many other grammatical delights, such as commas, semi colons, properly constructed sentences and paragraphs, and full stops.

Same especially using plural vs possessive properly. Main one that annoys me is when people only put an apostrophe after a name. Like James'. It's not a plural, so you use James's. Only leniency given is music like Christian songs with Jesus' to keep the rhythm correct.

My husband might go back to night shift. 6PM to 6AM Saturday - Monday, off every other Tuesday.

That might be his only choice as working mid shift has him all over the place and it's stressful.

In his line of work, it's hard on us anyways but night shift has its own breed of problems.

I’ve only ever briefly done shift work in my life. I hated it. Never knew what I was supposed to be eating when.

That is tough; night shift for an extended period of time can be pretty disruptive on bodies, sleep patterns, eating, relationships, and so on.

You’re kinda trading highest amount of calls for service with lowest amount but certainty to meet weird people. It seems that he’s working 10 hours with no lunch shifts so I assume that he is off three days a week. I think it’s a good thing to reduce stress by overload; at the end of the day I assume it’s for one or two years, depending on his seniority, right?

Just digesting you’re post...
Night shift for an extended period?
What do you mean midshift has him all over the place? Different physical locations or times? My understanding that loss of sleep on a regular basis is bad for your health.

It's 12 hour shifts. On 3, off 4. On 4, off 3. Fun how law enforcement agencies can make it so you don't get overtime even if you're over 40 hours.

It's really about which shift gives the stability right now. His mids are bouncing around like a kid in a ball pit. It's driving him ragged really.

One day he'll work 6AM to 6PM, then 11AM to 11PM. His days off and days on change. Since he's a self contractor as well in a side job, this has made juggling difficult.

Due to a change in his side job, he's now on overnight shifts of either 7 or 14 hours depending on location and availability.

So it makes sense to go nights with a steady schedule at his primary.

PS. Sorry for double posts, Tapatalk.

I used to do bank shifts. I’d work 2pm to 10pm one day, 6am to 2pm the next. I’d seriously consider if it was even worth going home sometimes! Especially as it was a 40 minute bike ride.

Another week is about to start at work. I see to live for Friday's and the weekends.

With the upper management changes happening, I merely want to do my job, well, and stay out of trouble. At the same time, I have a few employees I need to massage out of the door. Alas, let's see if HR will allow me to perform my duties in 2020. They didn't allow it in 2019, which was rather weird.

Interesting times ahead.

I’m off Monday and Tuesday. Decorating though, so I’d probably rather be at work!

Last couple of days wife had appointments so I spent at least 2 hours on Saturday and 3 hours today at the park, just reading and enjoying the passage of time. 75 degrees made the experience even better.

On the other side of the coin, I truly don’t understand people who smoke at a park, in the presence of their own children, and when it’s expressively forbidden. Hate the smell.
