I just became a paid member of Macrumors. I have been heavily using this site for news, discussions, and solutions and finally got enough shame to pay for it. For $2/M its way less than a price of a monthly magazine thats updated hourly and has interactive content. Seems more than fair...

Although in reality I was using both adblockers and PiHole to block the horrendously toxic ads on this site...you can't have the cake and eat it too. Well I can but it will be just unethical to use the site for free, stop their money income, and yet demand their services.

I wonder how many paid members Macrumors needs to drop the ads/tracking business model for everyone.

A lot more than it currently has.

If inter dimensional travel becomes an option soon, this maybe A reason to consider it this year.

I finally gave on updating my iOS apps and got tired of it. These are not updates these are live rolling releases, it grows and changes everyday.

Now I have to suffer opening an app and be surprised that the feature I like has been dropped in this release, and a new annoying "feature" has been added. One time I updated a browser and all my opened tabs were wiped out. There are no Betas with rolling releases.

The surgeon didn’t use surgical mesh in your operation did they? There is a long campaign to get it banned and it causes awful pain in patients but is still being used in some countries.

No mesh. Sorry it took me so long to respond. I'm in the process of applying for disability because I can't afford to keep trying to fix this but I can't live with the pain much longer.

My car needs a shim or a new rear end. We're trying to get a home. I'm in agony from pain. When it rains, it does more than pour. It floods.

Did the new doctor help at all? Sorry to hear that it’s all going the wrong way at the time.
Just remember don’t keep it all to yourself.
It’s good to talk.

I just try to stay busy, keep my mind occupied. I'm pretty devastated my health insurance won't cover 80% of my recent visit. I was out of network. They didn't deem the care to be necessary. "Sorry you were unconscious, but you should have just died or gone to in network!".

I can't even get started on my car and potholes. The home situation is looking grim with banks clutching their money tight with strict control. It's just overwhelming.

I’m sorry. I really hope that something changes for the better for you soon. You really don’t seem to be able to catch a break at the moment.
I can understand why banks are reluctant to lend money in the current climate. Hopefully there will be some good news for you soon.

Sorry you have to go through this. 🙁 Talk with the doctor’s billing department and politely ask if they can waive some of the fees. Be willing to pay some, but see what they can do. The Out-of-network infectious disease doctor who determined I had sepsis (from listeria) agreed to a much smaller payment (Walked away from paying thousands to her alone).

I hope things get easier for you.

Back in my positive mindset, after meltdowns with neighbors and mom feeling low. We’re meditating and just trying to keep our heads above water. Also back to drawing more frequently.

Wishing everyone a good day.

How is your mother, @kazmac?

More to the point, how are you?

Do remember to be kind to yourself; perfection is not the aim, being good enough and kind enough is more tha sufficient.

@Septembersrain: Try to be kind to yourself and not ask too much of yourself.

Best of luck to you both.
Mom is about the same pain-wise. Such a trooper. She’s trying to meditate, but gets frustrated because she hasn’t in a while, and compares herself to her friend who has been meditating for decades. I found a free meditation app and we can set it to five minutes. We’re both using it and that helped me calm down and not stress about little stuff.

So I am approaching the job, neighbors & their dogs with a positive attitude and am calmer about those things (the exception being the pot smoke coming into our apartment). Just keeping on this and helping mom with her stress, anxiety too. It’s a work in progress, but I'm very grateful to have tools to help us.

There is other stuff going on, just working on accepting those situations when they happen.

Avoided posting here for a bit because of the anger and negativity. We‘ve also had internet outages again.

Of course, I am eagerly awaiting the iPad Air and Apple Silicon Macs* (*Will wait for sales on both, unless Microcenter kindly has sales right out of the gate again).

Anyway, You’ve all been so wonderful with your ear, advice and kind words. Want to post nice or funny things too.

Hope you are okay too.

Sorry to hear you’re going through all that and I hope you get the answers you desperately need.

Any one noticed that Shazam became slower after Apple's purchase?
I think they are trying to store longer sample files in their database.

I have only used it in Siri and it's been fine since then... Is the app itself slower, or has the time to recognize songs gotten worse?

I would think it's because they now have that feature that is constantly listening for music to start playing.

A song on a database is going to already be multiple datasets (its audio fingerprints) that get filtered through based on that little recording you send to the server BTW.
