Firstly, as
@Northern Man - below - remarks - if you have to live with it, and spend a considerable period of time daily in the room, a lighter colour will be easier to live with.
Second, strong colours work best in a generously proportioned room with a high ceiling and large windows that both let in a lot of natural light, and also serve to break up walls with bold, strong colours; bold colours work well in such a room, one where the colour is strong but doesn't dominate think of those Georgian or Victorian drawing rooms, or reception rooms - and where the proportion allow for strength to be expressed, but not at the expense of everything else.
Basically, I think the room you have in mind for such bold and striking shades may be too small, and the ceilings too low, to carry this off successfully.
