Thinking about wanting to shoot a few photos this afternoon but haven't come up with any ideas yet for a good subject to choose. The weather is definitely not conducive to going out on the boardwalk or around the neighborhood, so it'll have to be an indoor project.....

Other than Mrs AFB craft photos I’ve not touched my camera in ages.

AFB, I hope that soon you'll have an opportunity to just relax for a little while, go out with the camera and shoot -- anything, just for the sheer relaxation and pleasure of it! Sometimes I go out and shoot a bunch of pictures, come home, run them through the computer and process/edit only a few, but the time spent in shooting was not wasted, as for me that experience is part of the whole process, not just the end product.

Yaxomoxay, such a kind and generous offer, but I do believe I'll pass..... Thanks just the same! :D

Apart from being very offended that my offer was refused, I must agree that sometimes doing something different such as shooting pictures, painting, woodworking, is reinvigorating. Lately I have been painting wood pieces, mainly for relaxation. I suck at painting, it's not even an exaggeration: I do suck. A stick figure is a challenge for me. Yet, since I don't really care about showing the final product off, I find the enterprise of taking upon such projects quite relaxing.

On the subject, check this article out (the video embedded to it is fantastic):

Doing something like photography, painting, woodworking, cooking, working on jigsaw puzzles, whatever, can indeed be very relaxing because it takes one's mind off everyday stressors and issues, shifts the mind's gears into a different zone, even if only temporarily, and gives the individual a break from the real world for a brief time.

yep, that's why I also love cooking (doesn't matter if it's simple stuff or more complex dishes), possibly with some light music on.
It might sound weird, but I also find loading the dishwasher somewhat relaxing.

Oddly enough, although in many ways I disliked ironing, there were times when I actually found it to be relaxing! Usually those were the times when I wasn't in a hurry to quickly press something in order to almost immediately put it on and rush out the door. If I had several items to iron and wasn't pressed for time, I would put music on and iron away.....

I have a hate/love relationship with ironing. I usually put some NCIS episode on if I am ironing...

Ironing? Haven't unwrapped the ironing board since we moved here a year ago!

Yes I do find photography relaxing. I took it up as a hobby to get me out and to escape from a stressful home life situation.

But time is at a premium right now. If I had some more time free I'd be out finding some where interesting to go. As it is I have 11 days holiday I'm not going to fit in before the end of the year.

Just washed up and made my last tea of the night. Trying to decide if I should log on to do some more work stuff or not.

In our monthly management meeting all afternoon tomorrow so I suppose I should....

My friend from Hawaii sent me another package. I am going to get her something this time. Nothing feels worse than having a great friend you've never met face to face and you feel like you're taking advantage of them. Kindness is rare in my life, so I want to return this gesture.

Last month my brother, his wife, daughter and boyfriend took a weekend break on a boat, Norfolk Broads. They all came back with COVID-19 after thinking a weekend on a boat on the river would be safe. Thankfully they have all recovered.

Here in our condo complex in Manila we are totally COVID free which astounds me. Four high rise condo blocks and near on 6,000 people and earlier this week they opened up the swimming pools for general use.

Had a few plumbing issues myself, poor workmanship but fortunately I am DIY savvy and can fix pretty much anything myself.

Still on my mind is that we went into lockdown on March 15 and will be under a form of lockdown until the end of this year and possibly into 2021. That is a long time to sit in an apartment only going out for groceries and pharmacy. I worry about the effect on my girls age 10 and 6. No social interaction other than the home school teacher. They seem happy but they should be in school, making friends, getting bullied, starting to cope with life and it is not happening.

Makes me laugh, we have not ironed anything for the last 4 years. Given we have been under lockdown for almost 10 months now there is really no reason to iron anyway.

I tried photography despite being more inclined towards video than photographs. Bought a decent Canon SLR and multiple lens. Gave it a shot and did get some decent results but my heart wasn't in it so sold the equipment last year.

I have project to keep me busy until Christmas. Replacing my 10 year old daughters 2011 MacBook Air with a used 2015 model. I would have happily bought her a new laptop for Christmas but the 11 inch Air is such a good fit for her and of course there is nothing like it available new of the shelf today. so lots of software set up happening in the next 2 weeks!

Passport renewal. Is it me? Man it is not easy even given we can't easily travel anywhere right now.

My 6 year old daughter is fine, both her Philippine and UK passports are good until 2024.

I am fine, got one good passport until 2022 and my second passport expires early 2021 but that is OK because I would have to justify the need for 2 passports to UK immigration and since I retired and stopped travelling to Israel I have no need anyway.

My 10 year old daughter is causing the problems. I think I just made a successful UK passport renewal application but wow it took some time. Given she has dual nationality I had to Xerox copy ALL the pages in her Philippines passport, not just the ones that have immigration stamps even the blank pages. It killed the ink cartridges in my printer and for what? Immigration records should show her travel history anyway. Then they want proof that she has been resident in Philippines for the last 12 months. We have been under lockdown here for almost 10 months with children under 18 not allowed outside. My daughter is basically a ghost she doesn't exist outside of our Condo complex. So Monday I have to get our home school teacher to sign a letter with a notary public to confirm my daughter has been home schooled by her for the last 12 months. I mean really??

Then there is the Philippines passport renewal. Impossible frankly. Cannot renew on line can only make an appointment on line and they are fully booked until April 2021 already so her passport will expire before we can get an appointment.

Then there is my wife, Phillipines passport only and it expires July 2021. Again no chance of a renewal and I was hoping to take the family to the UK next summer. May as well kiss that goodbye!

It should be easier right? uugghhhhh

Listening to Badalamenti's soundtrack of Twin Peaks, both the old original two seasons and The Return... and thinking how fast time goes.

This is an extraordinarily contagious condition, - and a nasty one, too, if you come down with a severe dose, but the best of luck.

The best of luck with what must be a difficult, and testing, and frustrating time.

From what I can see, current political conditions in the UK re Brexit would seem to point to the fact that the government would prefer not to facilitate the situation of British citizens with foreign spouses (and children).
