SWMBO and I went and visited some friends yesterday, some 150 km down the South Coast, a nice place called Gerroa.
Did a quick trip to a winery called Two Figs, named after two giant fig trees that are still on the estate. Wife and her friend did the quickest in-and-out evah! to a winery to buy a few bottles of wine.
Ended up having dinner at a seafood restaurant. She had Lemon Sole, which was quite nice. I had what purported to be Flathead fillets in Tempura batter. It may, possibly, have been Flathead, it certainly wasn't Tempura. I may just have the Sole next time.
But, not a bad day overall.

Interestingly, due to COVID, people are holidaying locally, and there has been a tremendous upsurge in people buying Campervans, Caravans, Camper-trailers, Combivans, and all manner of tents. It was interesting walking through the caravan park and seeing all of these pristine, only ever used for the first time, recreational vehicles.

That’s tough. My wife has her intolerances but is also incredibly fussy when it comes to food. Oh and she can’t cook anything lol. I quite often cook 3 different meals, one for me, one for her and the other for the kids. It’s knackering lol.
I eat the same as Mrs AFB most of the time. Mostly because she cooks and I’d not expect her to cook different food for just me. The big difference is I add a sauce to mine. Mrs AFB has hers dry. Don’t know how she does it. But it’s better than the alternative.

Ah so you lived in Alaska, as you posted on the other thread, where about? That's hardcore, much more extreme than Ottawa or Montreal, I won't even mention Vancouver where I was brought up - everytime it snows there it's a mess as we usually get rain in winter.

Anchorage. It wasn't as bad as other places like Fairbanks but it taught me a lot really quick. I went straight from Texas to there during the winter. It was a pretty drastic eye opener. We didn't get snow last night here but we might tonight.

I drove through Canada to get from Alaska back down to the states 2 years later. I'm really glad we did it during the summer months. I genuinely liked Canada. Winnipeg was fun.

Crazy but true story:

The hotel we had in Winnipeg was overbooked and we couldn't find a place to stay. So we went to a bar and got drunk. Ended up making friends with some locals and they let us stay at their place. Even made us breakfast and let us shower before we went on our way. No way would I have had such an amazing experience like that in the USA.

First presentation of the semester for my Studio class later this morning. I'm very nervous and not confident in my materials at all.

Good luck.

Agree with @Apple fanboy; say it with confidence, but, - as someone who once graced the groves of academe as both student and teacher - I would add to that: Don't be afraid to admit that yu don't know something, but make it your business to find out when the class/presentation has concluded.
Remember the golden rule of teaching. Say it with confidence and they will believe you!

Good luck.
Well said.

Thank you! I'm presenting as a student and not a teacher, but that still applies 1000%. My message did make it sound like I was a teacher though xD
The very best of luck with it.

Thank you. I fear I may have failed it actually. The presentation itself was fine, but the model and drawings I had prepared weren't as high quality as would have been desired because of how frazzled I've been as of late. o_O

Well then you can learn from this for next time. But hopefully it wasn’t a fail.

I'm feeling depressed today. 7 hours no power and I was up all night stressed. Husband stayed in a hotel in his city last night. It's supposed to get super cold again tonight but hopefully no snow. It seems to be melting thankfully.

Hmm, what’s on my mind?

Well…I started watching Cobra Kai today and I’m thinking about testing out my own martial arts skills 😂 Black belt…but it’s been a few years since I’ve really done anything. Curious to know if I’ve still got it, but have a feeling I’ll hurt myself if I even try 😂😂😂

My brain is going back and forth between “go ahead, give it a try” and “don’t even think about it, stupid”!

So finally got power back after 18 hours. Fire alarm went off because a reserve line froze in the building somewhere. I'm ready for this to be over already. Come on summer!

The 4-8" of snow we didn't get today up here in the frozen north; it's only overcast. I love it when Dark Sky is wrong in the winter, although that's rare.

Beautiful day. Raining and currently 54 degrees. Love listening to and watching the rain. Should make it to mid 60's today. So all in all not a bad day. Wishing all a good day.
