That's why I have cellular data plans on my iPads as well as my iPhones so that I can still connect with the outside world even if my power goes out and I can't use my WiFi. That has come in handy a few times over the years!
You can always tether your iPhone to your Mac. But it’s not quite as quick as a decent broadband connection.

Funny you joke about that. But when you lose WiFi for a while it feels as bad as having no electricity. But I’ve only had the benefit of the internet for about half my life. Weird isn’t it?
I am not joking! As of now I am collecting water in as many containers as possible due to water pressure issue in the whole region, all while with many other issues (electricity etc.), all while there is a boil ordinance because the filtering system doesn't work.

i was just sitting poolside warm 82 degrees
which brought back memories when i was 10 and my friend house had one installed
i need to thank them today for all the work i did, cleaning, treating so i could swim.
that lesson taught me to earn and keep friendships and appreciate the finer things with some elbow grease!

That's a good point, and I should keep that in mind when we have a power outage, but usually I can get what I need in terms of the cellular data connection with the iPhone or iPad and interacting on those devices directly so don't think about the tethering thing...... If at some point Apple ever offers the ability to have a cellular data connection in/with my Mac(s) I would be really happy with that!

Beer is in the ice. That is, in the backyard.

You guys in Texas are really being hit hard, especially due to the whole independence from the Grid thing, and now it's coming to bite residents in a way that probably no one ever expected..... Hang in there, hope you get your electricity back soon and also the whole toilet-flushing process returns to normal as well.

AFB, enjoy that Stella!!! And / or a second one...... You definitely deserve a treat!
Well as the boss is paying, it will probably be two!
Electric blanket on briefly. But it’s quite warm compared to Texas here!
Just hit a new move record as well. Trying to build up enough so when I go to London I can still hit my monthly target. Not much exercise when 3+ hours of it are spent in a car and the rest in the office.

Enjoy. I’m in London Monday night so will have a Stella. My first since December.
Do enjoy your Stella (and/or a second, as well) on Monday.

Agree completely.

My (brand new) electric blanket is on, as well.

I just gave up weed. Feeling crappy and anxious. Trying to keep busy and and dwell on it. Not doing well at the moment.

everyone love to say weed isn’t addictive. They are wrong. The mental addiction is just as bad as the physical one.
your brain cells will love you for this!

I thought you had written a post earlier today saying that your power had already returned?

I lost it for 18 hours, it came back for 4, then it went again for 38 hours. It's on right now and has been for going on 5 hours. I'm nervous as I've just seen snow lightening so I've got no idea if we'll get to keep power.

So far today we have what appears to be about two or three inches of snow at the most, and may get another inch or so during the day, and the lake is iced over again. Very few people going out-and-about as there are icy conditions as well, making untreated roads and sidewalks slippery. Brrrrr......!

According to the TV Weatherfakers we're in for 6-8" . Nobody out here , too . Got the usual reverse 911 calls from the town last night reminding everyone about getting their cars off the street so the plows can come through . Probably wait until 4PM or so to blow off the driveway and walk . Until then , probably spend the day doing little time waster household jobs I've been putting off .
