This forum crossed my mind and I'm hoping you all are well.

I was in the hospital again. Seems I'm looking at a colonoscopy and another laparoscopy. So I've been absent minded from pain and stress. Hope everyone here is having a good, or the very least decent, weekend. Take care.

Sounds like mine is better than yours. Hope your home now. Hospital is the last place anyone wants to be right now.
I’m having a long weekend. Off Friday and Monday which is nice.

A year out of work? I couldn't begin to imagine.

I didn't either before all this craziness started.

Hope things change for the better soon. The end is in sight (I hope!).

Thanks, remains to be seen how everything goes. The first big festival of the summer has already been cancelled, but the vaccination rate is also ramping up, so maybe there's indeed some light at the end of the tunnel. Other than the train, that is.

The very best of luck.

Thanks, much appreciated.

Apparently Snooki, the Orange Smurf, is back on TV.
I don't know what to think. Is life back to normal, or has it gone so far overboard that I should be looking to emigrate to a new planet?

Ok, the Internet is broken. Or at least part of it.
I couldn't post the reply above.
So I checked my router - all ok.
I checked Macrumors with IsItDownRightNow - all ok, but it does say that Cloudflare is down.
I try a different browser. That says that "connection between Cloudflare's network and the origin web server timed out".
Hmm. It seems that when I try to connect to MacRumors from Sydney, I go through Cloudflare, and it is down.
So, I tried a browser with built-in VPN - Opera. That works. Apparently, if MacRumors thinks I am in Sydney, it doesn't want to talk to me, but if it thinks I am elsewhere, it's all ok.
Bl**dy technology. I am going off to read a book. A paper book.

I’m never late when I’m working from home. Just when I’m in the office. I forget to allow for the 35 minute cross trainer session, breakfast and a shower. Plus the journey of course.
Well I meant I don't wake up as early and I tend to linger before going online. There has been precious little work over the last year for me, at least since May as we finished our Spring 21 semester online when are students returned home. That was fun. /s Our group came from all over the US plus one young lady from India who had to go home (she was enrolled at a US university) and we did our meetings at 6PM CET while the class were scattered across the US and the aforementioned Indian student had to join from the New Dehile time zone at 9PM or so her time...

I have been slowly preparing for the fall plus working on side projects with other people.

I feel like I’ve been working two jobs. 50 plus hours a week. Will start my evening shift in a bit.

Finished up some paperwork so tomorrow when I go out to run errands I can stop by the post office and mail it off....

Pouring rain all day here today so a good time to get that and other necessary evil tasks out of the way. In just a few weeks I'll want to be outdoors shooting the newly-blooming flowers -- can hardly wait!

pet peeve that puts a smile on my face; our utility room has a set of large cabinets above the washer and dryer, for washing and cleaning supplies, and what nots. (by the way, what is a "what not?")...anyway, the four cabinet doors closed with a roller catch, and almost every time she would get in to the cabinet i would later find the cabinet doors ajar. i would close them then ask her why it wasn't closed and she would say that it was too hard to latch it and why didn't i fix them. after a few years of dealing with this i removed all the latches, and installed magnetic latches. all it takes is a light push on the door, contact with the magnet and the door is closed. has it solved the problem? nope, doors are still left ajar. i have given up trying to find out the real reason as to why she won't close the doors, i just close them the next time i'm in the utility room, and smile. Errrrrrr !!

Maybe some spring loaded in cabins to auto close the doors when not holding!
