Covid-19 is on my mind. I want to implore people to continue taking this pandemic serious. Continue taking all the precautions you can, even if those around you no longer see the need.

Half of my immediate family was hit with Covid recently and I have one family member still in the hospital with a severe case of COVID-19. Said family member has been on life support going on 3 weeks. Today, the doctors did a MRI and CT scan because said family member has been having some paralysis and neurological weakness on the left side of the body. The doctors found a brain abscess and will perform brain surgery tomorrow.

Life is short. Make each moment count.

Absolutely. Friend’s funeral on Monday due to COVID. She was 45. I can only attend virtually.

Thank you. One of the reasons I booked off Monday. I didn’t want to go back to work afterwards. It’s going to be very strange. It’s not like a normal wake etc is it?

No, it's not.

And it is heart-breaking for the family that friends cannot be present, to (publicly) share their sorrow and acknowledge their grief.

Good idea to take the day off; trying to return to work after such an experience would be very stressful and upsetting, not least because the deceased was both friend and work colleague.

Exactly. Everything I do at work reminds me of her. When I’m busy I think I could ask her to help with something, then I remember she’s not around.

And as you say, she was relatively young, as well.

Heart-breaking, for her family, friends and colleagues, especially when the last two categories overlap, as they so often do in some of the very best of friendships.

Agreed. Life can be cruel. I do hope her husband is coping. They were a lovely couple. Very much in love. Only been married for 9 years or so.

It has been raining.

That's a 250 mile band of rain, moving from top right to bottom left.
I am in the middle (down and left a little from the cross hairs).
Our main dam (Warragamba) is overflowing. Towns are flooded.
It's so wet, even the local frogs (who have been serenading us with their love calls lately) are quiet.

On the other hand, there's still time for a tinny...

We're ok. When we were looking to buy in this area, the first release was a flat area prone to flooding. We waited until the hilly area up the back was released, so we are well above any potential flooding.

OTOH, there's a bloke pacing out an area 300 cubits by 50 cubits, and laying down what looks like a keel...

So the town near us floods every year. When we fought our bungalow we got a lot of checks done. But it’s all been good.

In an episode of Grand Designs I saw a house where the foundation was basically a formfitted pool in which the house was floating; so it went up and down with the floodings.

i dont remember seeing rain for weeks, or this month
kinda dry in southern west Florida.
but stay dry everyone!

i think i accidentally switched to Windows 10 and my primary computing system yesterday
and enjoying the software and quickness of the Dell XPS and iPad syncing.
my music, files sharing and overall experience are much better?
how did that happen?

iTunes on Windows for your iPad syncing, I assume. Glad it's working smoothly, but we'd really rather you use a Mac, especially on this forum!

Ulcers are on my mind. My mouth, hands and other areas are all very red and infected. Guess the Covid jab really didn’t agree with me.
Burning, itching, sourness. Not pleasant.

Off work today. My plans of going to the tip and gardening all shelved. Have a friends online funeral at 1:30. That’s on my mind a lot.
