I've also never understood why here in the UK the majority of cars are manual (stick shift) and in the US and Canada the majority are automatic. Surely in a smaller country like the UK where there is a constant stopping and starting on the roads a automatic is so much easier? After my travels to the US and Canada I bought a automatic and have never bought a manual car since. I'd never even consider buying a manual car again. I even think that they are safer. Go. Stop. Steer. What could be simpler?

That cool front in Texas is pretty much done, so it's getting hot here too. We have a complex pool but I can't wait until I can go to a lake.

By the way, your profile picture looks like Levi from AoT. That's an awesome anime. It was super difficult to watch at first because I wasn't accustomed to the style.
It is Levi, AoT is one of my favourite series! What's a complex pool btw?

I prefer manual. That way I’m making the decision about which gear I want to be in. Plus we don’t all live in the big city’s.

I am just lazy prefer Automatic can't be doing with the extra peddle for the clutch. Given enough horsepower it doesn't matter. Admittedly not a regular driver the last car I owned was in 2012 didn't need one in Singapore and Philippines. Last car was an Audi A6 2.7 Litre Bi Turbo automatic. Lots of grunt no need for a manual box. Went like brown stuff off a shiny shovel.

What is on my mind now? I am working at a place in South East London with on site parking and there is a gorgeous E31 8 series BMW parked there. It is the dream car I could actually own and I did 20 years ago. 1993 Bright red V12 850i. The one in the car park is the 840i but still so beautiful. What really hit me is that car is 24 years old man I have aged fast!

Did you have both your vaccinations prior to this contact? 14 days prior? If yes, I would ignore the instruction. That is why some people are deleting the app in the UK.

That’s the problem I think. People think because they’ve had their jabs, they no longer need to worry about spreading it to others. This whole period has really highlighted to me how many people I know who really only care about themselves. I do know if people who have been pinged unnecessarily though where they’ve been contacted because their next door neighbours are isolating etc.

I don't believe screens are bad for the environment. I never proposed AC, that was somebody else.
Sorry. I lose track sometimes. Probably an age thing! Yes screens would be fine for the environment! But it’s as hot (if not hotter) outside that doesn’t really help. At least we are all on the ground floor. I remember upstairs being unbearable when we lived in a two storey house.

Exactly. You are not immune and you can pass it on. That’s my biggest fear as Mrs AFB hasn’t had any jabs. Doesn’t help that my boss is one of those he thinks once you’ve had two jabs your safe. He clearly wants to get people into the office again. But many of the younger people I work with will be coming in by bus etc. At the moment the 8 people in the office are all spread out and the windows are all open. Get everyone back and they’ve all been on a bus, then we could be passing stuff around.

My boss had his 2 jabs and then caught COVID a month ago. He was off for 2 weeks and was very unwell. He was exhausted, coughing all the time and said it was like breathing underwater. He was so worried at one time he called his GP. His symptoms then went on to sharpe pains in his head. He said he’s never experienced anything like it. And he’s a supper fit 40 something. Also, my girlfriend got it (today is my last day of self isolation). She had 2 bad days but then not so bad. She is still exhausted all the time. She also has had her 2 jabs. I for one won’t be going out and if I have to will continue to wear a mask. Talk at my office is for a hybrid model way of working but when that is set up who knows?

We were able to work from home 2 days a week before Covid. I've been going in 2 days a week during the pandemic. But its very few people in (some are in everyday). So I feel fine. That said when my boss suggests flying a colleague over from another country for a meeting, I'm less keen.

It's a pool we all share in my apartment. It's really big so I haven't ever experienced it being full before. AoT is becoming one of my favourites. I'm impatiently waiting for 2022. I know I can just read it but the anime is exciting!

Wow, that's a really nice pool!!!! Yes, it is huge, too! Is the apartment complex a large one with many buildings and units? When our condo community was built the builders were anticipating that the units would be purchased mostly by young working singles and couples and that the pool wouldn't need to be all that large since most likely it wouldn't get much use during the week. There is no "baby pool" or special area for children, as at the time of construction (1984) I guess they figured that people with children wouldn't be living here and that young couples who wanted to start a family would probably sell their condo unit and move to a single-family house when the time came.

Our pool is barely large enough to swim laps in, and when they built it initially they didn't bother putting in any sort of gradual entrance or steps, instead just placed metal ladders in a couple of strategic places for people to climb in-and-out. About twelve or fifteen years later, after many requests on the part of the community (I think there were a couple of slips-and-falls and other injuries), steps to walk down into the pool were added, which makes such a big difference -- a lot easier to get in-and-out now!

Is your pool open year-around or most of the year? Given your climate in Texas, I would guess so. Here on the East Coast our winters pretty much don't allow for that, and so our pool opens each Memorial Day weekend and then closes at the end of Labor Day Weekend, which is a typical schedule for this part of the country.

I’m pretty sure these mashed potatoes will be perfect but I hate waiting to find out with the knife poke test.

The bottom of my coffee cup says "Only trust people who like pizza".
Questions arising --
  • Is my coffee cup a people?
  • If my coffee cup can't eat pizza, how does it know it likes it?
  • If my coffee cup doesn't like pizza, should I trust it?
  • If I try pizza and don't like it, should I trust myself?
  • If I can't trust myself in my not liking pizza, do I really like it?
  • Should I get a different coffee cup?
  • Is the confusion arising from the above questions coming from drinking too much coffee?

It's open all year around but they'll close during the coldest months for any upkeep though. Our complex is pretty big, 50+ buildings. Most are military. We've got garages for every unit, connected.

My old complex had a smaller pool but they had two. I wish this pool had a deeper area like my old complex. Since there is only one pool here, the deepest it gets is 4 1/2 feet deep. The second pool at our old place was 6 feet deep.

I'd love to have a place with a deep pool that either I own or at a center less than a few miles away.

Today is not so great. After my heart condition kicked me over, I blacked out in front of an ULTA.

My knee is a little messed up.
